Somebody has to get these guys the ball and Fitz is doing a pretty good job at that. I am sick of hearing "of course Fitz is not good enough to get us to the superbowl but". Why not he is plenty good enough and I think two 1,000 yd receivers will prove that. Is the rest of team good enough I guess we will see but lets not be in a rush to dump the best QB we have since Chad.
I have been down on fitz, but now i am thinking he could be our Rich Gannon. Meh career but comes on late after being teamed up with 2 very good wrs in a qb friendly system.
Only time will tell but I like what I see thus far. It is just nice to watch a QB with some semblance of pocket presence. It was not fun watching Geno back-up 20 yards and Sanchez fumbling every time he was touched.
Most TD's by a duo in Jets history was 18 held by Keyshawn and Chrebet. Deck and Marsh have 18 with 4 games remaining. we looking at Keyshawn and Chrebet on steroids ! (almost literally lol they are like twice their size)
And its looking like the Jets will finally have their 1st ever 100 reception receiver in team history.
That was in the hurry up. fouts highlighted decker and said "let me help the giants out...decker...he's right here."
Idzik gets credit for Decker, Ivory, Pryor and Richardson...Not going to get in argument with ppl, but the billboards and airplanes were absurd. At least they helped to get Rex fired too. I'm happy with our current FO. Fitz (game manager) > Geno (younger, high flying "maverick" dangerous) What I have learned from this experience is Smart guys make better quarterbacks and leaders. Geno, while everyone hates him...would have been better served taking the first couple of years to learn and develop.
And having the OL be a bit unstable all year in the process. Gailey has done a wonderful job with what he's had available. On the WR thing I think this is the best tandem in a season since Maynard and Sauer. Walker and Toon had one great year together in 1986. Walker wasn't a full time starter by that point but he burned people deep repeatedly.
He seems to do it every game where he catches a 10-15 yard pass in the middle of the field wide open. He knows how to settle into that soft spot and give the qb a good target.
Marshall is about to break almost all the Jet single season records and Decker is going to surpass 1,000 yards as well. Definitely one of the best WR tandems in the league if not the best.
Quite possibly. Though as others have pointed out, Walker/Toon was an excellent combo, as was Keyshawn/Chrebet. This is certainly the best we've had since Coles/Chrebet.
This tandem is easily better then either Coles/Chrebet or Keyshawn/Chrebet, IMO. The only debate is with Walker/Toon.
I think this is the best we've ever had in the modern football era. Regardless of what happens, Gailey deserves credit for utilization of the weapons, but so does Mike Maccagnan for putting this together. Maccagnan basically put on a clinic for how to patch up a team after it's devastated by poor management.
