Exactly. You want to beat the villain not his backup. I'm a seton hall grad and we always get crushed by Uconn but we finally beat them when Jim Calhoun was out sick. It was a good feeling win but it just wasn't the same. I'd rather beat the Patriots with a backup QB than lose to Brady obviously but if we are going to do anything in the playoffs I want to see us beat the best.
Jacobs is definitely losing his spot in that crammed backfield (not that he necessarily had one to start with)...
