Aside from the horrible decision to pass on 2nd and 5, Schotty did pretty well today. It's not easy to move the ball against the Steelers defense. Of course it certainly helps that Sanchez and the receivers actually came to play today.
Brilliant game plan today. The only bad part was the wildcat attempt with Brad that ended up doing nothing and the playcalling in the last 30 seconds of the first half, but the clock management was probably on Rex. Also not a fan of the 2nd and 5 pass at the end of the game but I can understand the idea of trying to close out the game. He finally schemed what people were asking for: a series of plays that gets the team down the field and build Sanchez's confidence. May not have been a great offensive showing but I'd say the offense was awesome taking into account this Steelers def.
Schitty called an excellent game. however whoever said that he throws up a good game followed by crap ones is right. hopefully that doesn't happen but i wouldn't be surprised. those 2 fakes were the best two fakes ive ever seen. lol @ mark selling the high snap on the play by LT
Props to Schotty on the game plan today and the great calls on the Sanchez TD run and the LT direct snap.
Schotty needs to keep running high amounts of play action plays. That was the one huge difference between this week and last. Great coaching of Sanchez in one week. Sanchez looked so much more confident out there
All right - I didn't see typical Schotty fuck-ups today, so I will lay him off for a week. (Watching Sanchez command the huddle with 13 seconds on the clock was a nice change of scenery.)
It was a good step in the right direction. The offense still only scored one TD so it isn't all good. If the players execute like that and he can keep that type of rhythm to his play calling the points will come.
Notice how much better the offense looks when the offensive line blocks well and Sanchez throws well and the receivers catch the ball?
Schotty took the comments to heart, and called a great second half, for the most part. He had some very questionable calls late into the game though, and they could have proved very costly.
he called a decent game. I had an issue with the play calling and time outs at the fend of the first half
He called a very good game. But the lack of TOs called at the end of the first half and the play-calling after we got the ball after Taylor's safety were suspect. But the overall variety and timeliness of today's play-calling was a HUGE improvement over the past two games! Nice job.
I have been extremely critical of him, but he did a good job today. He mixed it up, and put Sanchez in manageable positions most of the game. His playcall on the TD run by Sanchez was brilliant. Hopefully he will get his act together. I still chalk it up to, even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while. We shall see, good win, good bounce back by the OC.
Schotty did a few good things today and we won, so I will ease up on him this week. That being said, I hope I don't see any "take THAT Schotty haters!" type posts, because trust me....there are things we can "discuss."
