The Jets added no free-agents and have had lousy drafts the last few years. They added an OL coach as OC. We are looking at 7-9 at best.
This is a 242 page thread about a coach who never proved himself to be better than mediocre. A team that aspires to win Super Bowls cannot suffer a mediocre offensive coordinator who is clearly not part of the solution. It's that simple. Multiple people have called the Jets offense predictable. It was plain to see. Move on. Could the roster use more talent? Is Sparano going to be better? These are conversations entirely independent from the fact that Schottenheimer wasn't very good, and a change needed to be made. -X-
We didn't have much to work with in free agency but we did upgrade our safety position. People complain we trade away our picks and then when we don't do it they complain that we aren't making enough moves. We have no idea what Sparano is at this point. Its preseason the Jets are being extra vanilla and are seeing what they got. Its hard to come to any conclusion about what we are as a team at this point. We are playing with who hopefully won't be our RT come week 1 and practically none of our wrs.
oh you mean the cheifs that schottys offense destroyed last season as well? maybe the cheifs just suck...
Baaahaahahaha! We added NO free agents and had all lousy drafts.   Where do people come up with this crap?
do u really believe that?? our cap window is not necessarily wide open and our flexibility is somewhat muted. as far as the drafts - u can argue it both ways. some selections have been spot on while others not so much. IMO - their approach needs to be tweaked a bit. u cannot draft a QB and RB in nearly every draft. it eats up picks - especially when u dont have the full roster of picks cause u previously traded them away.
Not drafting a RT? Probably a mistake. Not drafting a P? Not a mistake. Not signing an UDFA P? Big mistake.
This. Although knowing how bad WFH was last year and taking into consideration their lack of depth on the O-line, I would have definitely taken a RT in the draft.
http://espn.go.com/new-york/nfl/sto...ork-jets-close-deal-jason-smith-st-louis-rams "The Jets had no intention of dealing Hunter, but they received a call from the Rams shortly after demoting him, a source said. Rams offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer, who held the same position with the Jets from 2006 to 2011, always held Hunter in high regard." hahahaAHAHAhaahahaHAHahahaHAHahahahaahahahaahaha
Had we drafted an RT in rounds 1 or 2, you'd be bitching that we pissed it away because we didn't get ourselves a WR or pass rusher.
Not me. I would have preferred blue chip RT over WR in Rd. 2. I have expressed that opinion on the draft day as well - you should be able to find it.
