The Bills? Who said that's less? You wouldn't trade first team offenses?

I don't think Schotty should be fired (now) but we have been doing the hard thing in your scenario. Since Schotty's been here, we've changed our players to fit his system. New QB, new RBs, new WRs. Getting Holmes, LT, moving up in the draft to get Sanchez, were all savvy acquisitions made to further Schottenheimer's O.

the eternal question, is it the players or Schotty? Sanchez has very rarely looked great, and it is becoming increasingly obvious to me he is not only not a difference maker but will never be one. but what are the Jets to do, get rid of Sanchez first? no, you get rid of the coordinator, and if Sanchez continues to just be average you get rid of him too. but you have to find out which is the problem, Schotty or Sanchez, and the coordinator is the first step to take before the player.

I totally get that, but my point is those players aren't so talented. Holmes is, but Sanchez is just not very accurate. And I don't see how Greene's lack of productivity in the regular season can be ascribed to Schottenheimer--He's the guy calling the plays in the playoffs, too.

The Jets spread out & put LT as a receiver & went 3 & out. Up the middle didn't work (tried it with RB & FB). Pitch to run outside failed. Shotgun failed because they can't even handle snap. WR screens failed because the O-Line can't coordinate.

Ravens were jumping short passes, as pointed out by Collinsworth. Sanchez can't stand up long enough for long passes to develop.

It sucks but this O-Line just didn't leave many options.

I'm cool with firing him to do that, like I said before he isn't Bill Waslh. But I'm just not cool with this anti-Schotty witch hunt which seems to be more about looking for someone to blame than anything else.

Like I said before....Sanchez sucked..and he was a stupid idiot for throwing that pass.

But you can not just dismiss the design of the play...because it defines your OC. It defines how simple his gameplans are to figure.

Are they because of the qb? Maybe! But you can not fire your qb at this point. You bring in someone else at OC.

Plenty of coordinators design short outs to the sideline. So yeah, I can dismiss the design of that play.

Collinsworth called it. Once the safety lined up on the same side, Sanchez should've been aware the CB can play up.
Sanchez has the ability to checkdown or throw it away.

This game isn't all on Sanchez though. He got hammered every play by the Ravens D. It was David Carr bad.

    Tonight it was both.

For the life of me how can Sanchez not recognize zones, safety blitzes etc? Is he not coached or is he a fucking moron?

He plays against a complex defense every fucking week in practice, it should be much of what he sees, week in and week out. That said some of the play calls were perplexing................Oh well. I wish the defense could play both sides tonight.

That part is getting to me as well, but it could come down to how much control he actually has at the line as far as changing plays. Not a likely reason at all, but if Schottenheimer goes away and the problem continues or stops then we'll know for sure.

Either way, I don't think Schottenheimer has earned his position on this team so far this season. Sanchez could be a different story altogether but that's another argument for another thread.

I try to bite my tongue when it comes to Brian, but seriously, WTF?

He blows. Every time we're facing a questionable secondary we throw short. Really?

Refs didn't help us at all, but you only need a 3 step drop to let one go to the play makers...

We can't protect the QB long enough for a deep pass. That's on Schottenheimer's head too, but "go deep" isn't going to be a cure-all for this offense.
If that was true then there would be much fewer defensive players going into the HOF.

Settle down puck, the OL sucked ass. By that I mean Hunter should just be cut, he's dogshit.

I have no idea how Mark survived the game tonight. Or why he would be back in after we forfeited in the early 4th quarter.

Cally's head as well. I watched teams with lesser players protect their guy today.

    (bolded) What?
