'Numbers are identical' is equivalent to 'He is the same QB he was before' right? What a massive fail. Hell, learn to look at last year's QB stats. Sanchez and Stafford had nearly same stats too. Are they same QBs? Did they share same successes? I mean, how can you be so completely oblivious to the circumstances? -------------------------------------------------------------------- Why is Brian getting the blame? 1. Who designs the plays? Sanchez? OLs? WRs? The ineffective play designs are coming straight from Brian - and he is not to blame, right? Oh, right. It's the execution issue, right? Answer me this. Did Brian's offense ever had a season where the execution was NOT an issue? His offense had rough patch of execution issues even when Jets were winning this season. The year before and more? This execution issue has been with the Jets offense for as long as Schottenheimer was here. The last time Jets didn't have this issue was when Pennington was quarterbacking the team before his shoulder injury. So... all 11 guys having problem executing the scheme, especially after the whole nucleus of the offense (sans QB) were in the system for 4-5 years - that blame should again go straight to the team? Instead of who was the architect of that bullshit system? Or will you pull the same excuse as "Braylon hasn't been in the system long enough" or "Santonio wasn't in the system long enough"? One excuse after another, but no responsibility. They are not executing 'because of this that this that' - and you just don't get fed up with that crap at all? Seriously you have very high tolerance for bullshits, I can see. 2. Who keeps the offense in a tight situation all game? By this, I mean, since when Sanchez ever had more than 7-8 seconds at the line? Even Alex Smith of Niners was getting his snap at 10 seconds mark. Who gives the offensive play calls? Rex? Henry Ellard? Dennis Thurman? I just don't fucking understand what's with these BS supporters. And before I forget - this 'playing faster' was one of the things that was addressed as a 'need' during Mangini's rule. Schotty wasn't giving his QBs enough time to make adjustment back then either. *Of course, junc will ignore this. I know he will.*
Mmmmmm.... We have keller, holmes, edwards, smith, and we can't score more then 1 touchdown a game????? He is got to go!
and LT, and Cotchery, and one of the best damn lines in football...you are absolutely right. We have to stop taking these losses as a team and point the blame at someone else we arent going to get anywhere. Schotty is the one to blame and has to go.
Big names don't guarantee wins. Look at what the Pats did with , who? If you matched up player for player, I would have said we take that game in the same way we did in week 2. The problems in my eyes, is that either the players don't fully understand the system, or its not working, either way its all on Schotties shoulders. My dilemma is this: Do we get rid of BS and get another OC in, which will possibly hamper the development of Sanchez? Some here have called for Callahan to be put in charge which I wouldn't mind seeing, if BS does end up being fired.
they say the definition of insanity is repeating the same action multiple times and expecting a different result. so clearly, schotty is insane. he doesnt think that they plays that work will work again, so he goes to new ones; and the plays that dont work, hell keep playing until they work, because if they didnt work before, this time they wont be ready for it. its like as soon as a play is effective he puts it in a special lock box reserved for those occasions when he REALLY needs it, because if he uses it too much then theyll know. THEYLL KNOW!
Since Sanchez still needs alot of "development", perhaps the time to change OC's is now instead of later. Kinda like sending your kid to a better school so he can achieve more and learn more..
So if he goes from Chicago to Denver and his #s are simialr despite playing w/ more talent would that lead one to believe McDaniels did a good job w/ him or that nothing much has changed? Orton was adecent QB before Den and he's a decent QB now. 1. What's wrong w/ the design of the plays? has the design forced Sanchez to make bad reads, bad throws or for the receivers to drop passes? The design of the plays are fine, the execution is problem #1 and Brian DOES deserve some blame for that- just not all of it. 2. I agree on #2, the tempo needs to be picke dup. Please do not confuse my backing of brian w/ me thinking he's blameless. there are many hands in this mess and he runs the O so he gets a good share of the blame but I have seen far too many mistakes(simple mistakes) made by players that I do not believe can be attributed to the OC. of course I will ignore this Just argue your points, we don't need the silly comments added in. Holmes and Cotch have dropped a million balls this year, LT cannot move right now, our Ol is average at the moment but yeah it's all on the OC.
What is wrong with the design of the plays? 1. My 14 year old daughter can identify the plays before they are run and she has been watching football for only 2 years. Many call this a playcalling flaw which on some levels it is but it is also a design flaw by often tipping off the play based on formation/personnel etc. 2. On most passing plays noone ever gets open. Sure we have our handful of plays that do but if you watch almost every other team in the NFL, they create mismatches, run legal pick plays and receivers get wide open. You can blame execution but it has been happening for two long with two many casts of characters to think it is anything other than play design. Even when Sanchez has been successful it has been throwing balls into tight windows, covered receivers or making absolutely perfect throws - you rarely see the gimme throws that Brady's orPeyton's O creates for him. (Note - not diecreditng those guys they are the best in the league - but their systems create at least 10 completions a game that are almost guaranteed and uncontested. Does BS deserve ALL of the blame - No, just MOST of it.
1. Uhh.. no she can't. Anybody can tell whether a play is going to be a run or pass based on team formations, tendencies, and the situation. Can she call what kind of run is being called, and to what hole? What the routes are going to be during passes? Lol at all of the fans who think they're some kind of genius because they can predict a run or a pass with some accuracy. 2. Watch the tape, receivers are getting open. The gimme throws from the Patriots offense comes from Brady's ability to read offenses pre-snap and audible. He's then able to read the defense quickly post-snap and find the right guy. He's one of the best of all time. The play-calling has been decent. And if you think it's bad, go watch some other teams and see how our plays compare. Schotty needs to be blamed for the execution of his players. It comes down to how they practice, it's an organization-wide problem. Which ever drills help to develop Sanchez's accuracy and timing with WR's... they're not doing enough of them or they're not being creative enough. Most of the offense's problems are coming from Sanchez's inaccuracy (30th in the league in competion % - one of the more telling stats). There's a reason why Sanchez will make the most $ out of every player on the Jets next year - because he's the quarterback. There's a reason why the quarterback position is the highest paid position league wide: because the QB dictates how well a team plays more than any other position. How did Mike Martz do with San Fran and how's the offense performing in Chicago? They aren't resembling the 1999 Rams, that's for sure. Putting 90%+ of the blame on the offensive coordinator doesn't make any sense (most idiot Jet fans blame Schotty 100%). When it comes down to it, Sanchez has been underperforming. And he is deserving of a lot of the blame. That doesn't mean that we should cut him. It means that fans need to be patient. The writings in the wall for Schotty when idiot fans are chanting for his termination during games and making online petitions for his termination. These fans are the reason the rest of the NFL laughs at the Jets. These select group of Jet fans couldn't be more clueless, and they're going to be the same fans that boo Sanchez when a new coordinator comes in next year and Sanchez doesn't play like a top 10 QB. It's quite obvious that these fans watch the Jets and curse at the Jets to release their anger over personal failures and short-comings. The patient fans are the ones who watch the team to support them and have fun. End Rant.
I was at the Dolphins game and when sanchez scrambled for a first down he had Homes wide open on a post route.
1) I will give you that my 14 year old cannot determine much about the routes on pass plays - but I assure you that not only can she determine between run and pass, on the vast majority of runs she can tell you where it is going. 2) No - you need to watch the tape and then some other teams passing schemes - the receivers are not getting open. Please do not give me a single play or two, of course there are going to be some instances. You laugh at fans that think they can determine plays, I laugh at any asshole that really thinks the problem with this O is aything other than BS. I played Guard in 1AA and have probably forgotten more about football than you will ever know. Schotty's offense sucks.
I liked the calls today. The only thing i didn't like was the drive after the Taylor safety. On 3rd and 3,after successful runs,it should have been a run play and the game would not have had to be that close.
I was happy about the calls too. I probably would have thrown in that situation too but obviously hindsight is 20/20.
