Blount could replicate his performance from Saturday and Manning will be blamed and Brady will be crowned.
let's see it? I always see that response but we never see those actual results. sure but Miller cheated and was suspended then got hurt. You are going to compare losing him to losing Gronk, hernandez, Wilfork, etc...? sometimes it's about what you don't do as much as it is about what you actually do. Was Tom turning it over? Manning threw a big pick yesterday and nearly had another one in what turned out to be a close game that never should have been close in the 4th qtr. too many times in big games Peyton makes the big mistake. Brady had an efficient game and didn't try to do too much. Peyton kind of did the same outside of a couple of passes- that's why he actually came through yesterday and ran out the clock something he has failed to do often in postseason.
You would still blame Manning. No matter what happens u will blame Manning and make an excuse for your boy just like u do with Taco. We know how it goes with u. Good luck this weekend, Pats fan.
Yes you can easily compare the loss of Miller to those guys. He's a game changing talent just like Gronk is. Peyton's pick was drop that wasnt on him. Brady had an efficient game and didnt do much because he didnt have to. His defense forced turnovers that put them in manageable spots and Blount dominated.
Let's see what happens, if he has an Alex Smith game from last week I wouldn't blame him but if he has a Peyton game like '99.00. '02, '03, '04, '05, '07, '08, '09, '10. '12 then I'll blame Peyton. I don't make any excuses, I deal in reality. It probably bothers you that peyton left Mark Sanchez too much time in the 2010 WC game.
Miller is a great player, last I checked he was on the roster last year when they choked. Peyton's pick was an awful decision, he got unlucky w/ the bounce but his receiver was completely covered. he also had a terrible throw on the first series that easily should have been picked. so one time he got lucky, the next time he didn't. Brady didn't force anything, sometimes that is the difference. None of the winning QBs had great stat games but they made plays to win(sounds like us in '09/'10).
I loved that win. 75% of my home town are Colts fans. It was nothing compared to the win the following week though. Bet you're still upset about that one eh clam chowder?
I love the Manning excuses. When you make bad decisions bad things can happen, that was a terrible force in a situation he didn't need to force. It gave a dead team life and kept them in the game but I wouldn't expect you to understand that b/c pro football focus doesn't tell you that.
There's probably never going to be another QB who comes out and wins his first 10 playoff games (Super Bowls included). That was a crazy anomaly and no way was it even remotely sustainable over the course of a career. So I don't know what you're getting at here... is 18-7 a bad postseason record? Do those first 10 wins not "count" because they happened too long ago? I think a lot of NFL teams would be happy with a stellar, as you put it, 6-5 record in their previous 11 playoff games. A lot of teams don't HAVE 11 playoff games in their history. And two of those losses were Super Bowls that were as close as they get. Some Jets fans literally rode Mark Sanchez's jock for years because he brought you to back-to-back AFC Championship Games. This is the third straight for NE, but Brady's been a bum the past seven years? Players like Brady are undermined by their own success. Evaluate them by such high standards and it's easy to find failure; evaluate them the same standards as everyone else, and that's why they're great players.
Decker was smothered, the SD defender had a hand in his chest. terrible decision, some bad luck w/ the bounce and great catch by SD but again you make bad decisions and bad things can happen. got lucky w/ the dropped INT earlier, not so lucky this time.
If you say so. Peyton was able to put a clutch, ballsy game winning drive though after his defense and special teams failed him in a game that shouldn't have been close. Props to Peyton.
I also don't remember the play perfectly, I can't remember if it was a deflection or thrown poorly. I just remember holding my breath after seeing the Colts defender with 2 hands on it before basically throwing it into the ground.
7 of the last 10 AFC Championship games have featured Manning or Brady or Both. But yeah- those guys suck in the postseason. Good call those of you who are jackasses.
great drive, he finally ended a game rather than give his opponent a chance though he got fortunate w/ a busted coverage on 3rd and 17. I tip my cap, he made plays to win but stop w/ the D/STs failing him. what was he doing to put the game away when he had chances earlier? hew as as guilty as anyone else and I tip my cap that he stepped up and made plays to win when it mattered most.
