who is changing anything? where did I change? wait so we take away pts from Brady in garbage time bit not peyton? you think that Td late vs. ten in 1999 wasn't garbage time? the late TD in the '03 game at NE wasn't garbage time? Try to be fair w/ your excuses.

How many games has Brady lost when he had a chance to win(or tie) late? probably zero as he was handed the ball back too late vs. NYG in both SBs.

the same question for Peyton? at Miami '00, vs. Pitt '05, vs. SD '07, at Sd '08, at NO '09, vs. NYJ '10, vs. Bal '12.

    There's the difference.

If giving up a 60 yard pass with 30 seconds left and a 7 point is not blowing a game, then I don't know what is. That play will go down in history as one of the worst defensive collapses in NFL history. Why can't you ever admit it when you are wrong? You are an intelligent fan, but your insistence on always being right is downright annoying, particularly in those instances when you are clearly off base.

If Denver's defense does anything other than what they did on the Jones TD, Denver wins. If they cover him, knock the ball down, keep him in front and tackle him in bounds, take a good angle on the play, play the ball and not the man etc. Any of those options and Denver wins.

If there ever was a case of a defense losing a game, that was it.

Brady is a straight bitch, and he proved it again this game.

He's a good QB, but also a beneficiary of a well oiled machine. He crumbles, as does his team, under physical play. I'd like to see him take a different team to a #1 seed, and be in running for league MVP, like Peyton just did. Would never happen for him w/o Belichick.

Sliding cleats up? what a f'n bitch. that arrogant look became a shell shocked look after enough hits last night. It was great to watch.

if peyton doesn't throw an INT for a TD they win, if peyton doesn't fumble to set up another TD they win, if peyton leads them to a FG in OT w/ one of the 2 possessions he had they win. Blame the D all you want, it was peyton's fault.

Fuck Brady....did you watch last nights game....most throws less than 8 yards. Robert Kraft should still be blowing Charlie Weiss.

If Brady doesn't run at the end of the first half they probably can score. If the ball less wonder tries to beat Ngata to the corner they probably score....and then he throws a pick in the end zone to finish it.

The INT should hae been caught, and the fumble was a TUCK. The D lets a 70 yard bomb go over their head w/ :31 secs left. Blame Manning all you want but it was a complete TEAM loss.

Everyone here is arguing with a guy who is adamant that Sanchez is a good QB. Why is his evaluation of the QB position taken even remotely seriously?

Honestly Junc I don't think you read my posts: Where do you change arguments , how about what I wrote in the post you quoted: "Junc you said this "You can throw whatever #s you want but just over 14 PPG in playoff losses is the most important #" but then you go and say this "Stats tell PART of the story, the sooner we all realize this the better off we will be as fans." To spell it out very simply, you used a stat that you deicded was the most important # but then when others use stats, you say stats tell part of the story. Interestingly enough this was not the case when you determined ppg in a playoff losses were the most important stat. Do I need to explain it even more detail? Changing your argument, you use a stat and say it's the most important then you go on and say stats don't tell the whole story.

Junc what exactly is garbage time to you? Cutting the lead to 7 with about 2:00 minutes left and TO is not considered garbage time to me. Is it to you? That would explain a LOT about some of your theories.

Brady was given the ball back with 1:04 left in the last Super Bowl down 4? That's "too late?". Joe flacco got 1:09 in DEN down 7. Exactly why is 1:04 too late for the great Tom Brady?

In the other SB Tom Brady got 29 seconds to get 3, Matt Ryan got 31 seconds against SEA to get 3. In Ryan's rookie year he had 6 seconds and went 26 yards to get 3! Again, what exactly is too late here too?

Please explain to me how Matt Ryan and Joe Flacco took two game situations that under your circumstances are "too late" and tied and won the game? If they can do it, the great Tom Brady should be able to.

Junc can't I go the other way and say how many times has the D/ST for Peyton needed a kick or stop to win/tie they didn't get it? Miami 00, Pit 05, SD 07, SD 08, NYJ 10, BAL 12. Wow what a coicidence, our list mostly matches! What a shocking surprise

Going through this, has Tom Brady led his team to a game winning/tying TD in the playoffs with less than 2 minutes left? That's the one thing he is missing from his legacy. Odd that he doesn't have one.

Why do you guys both arguing with nyjunc? He chooses his position and then formulates a back assed argument around it. I did a little searching and found him using this logic to defend Brady losing in a superbowl.

Kinda like Manning did against the Ravens before his defense blew it.

I won't be "debating" with you junc, I know you already have your warped position all layed out based on what position you want to try and defend.

That was terrible clock management. I thought for sure NE was getting a shot at the EZ there, but they messed up big time. Brady didn't want to use the TO and Bill never tried to override him and call one.

He does a really good job of being so outrageous and factually incorrect, that you have to respond. The double standards are so glaring you have to say something. He runs the Skip Bayless act very well on here.

See below for an outrageous statement, especially the last sentence. Peyton's defense haven't blown leads :breakdance: How do you not respond to that after it happened literally 2 Sundays ago

Someone double check me, but I am 99% sure Brady has not led a game winning TD drive in the final two minutes of the a playoff game. Most of the time he has needed 3 to tie/win and his greatest comebacks end on Adam Vinateiri's legs. The closest Brady got was leading NE to a 4 points lead against NYG in that first matchup with 2:45 left.

I don't if he doesn't have one means anything, but off the top of my head Peyton has one, Eli has 2 in the SB alone, Big Ben has one in the SB too. Interesting.

Charlie Weis had so much success pre and post Brady:lol:

yes I saw him, he had a poor Peyton-like game.

The FIRST INT was a poor throw w/ a defender on his WRs back, he got away w/ a 2nd fumble so it was justice he lost the other one. No matter how many excuses you make he failed once again.

No one said it was all on him, there are plenty of culprits to go around but the biggest one was Peyton.

I think the just over 14 PPg # tells us a lot, it summarizes his struggles quite nicely.

I always say stats tell part of the story, Brady & manning have similar #s but clearly not created equally due to numerous late game failures by Peyton, his 8 one and done's, his lone championship in a postseason where he threw 3TDs and 7 INTs,...

Brady got the ball back w/ :57 secs to play w/ 1 TO needing 80 yds, yeah that was a chance to win the game but Peyton w/ TWO possessions in OT needing a FG to win is an impossible spot.

1:09 is greater than :57 but that was a 1 in a thouand type of play. Flacco got lucky, NYG was not allowing NE WRs to get behind them.

29 secs at his own 26 is not fair to expect him to lead them to a score. is it possible? sure but again it would be an incredibly fluky play which they nearly got.

We can find other examples too but I bet you find 98% that go the other way if you looked it up.

this is like saying Arizona won a playoff game allowing 45 pts in 2009 so why can't Peyton win every playoff game where his D gives up 45 or less? It's a good try though.

no, actually they were nothing alike.

One was in the SUPER BOWL TRAILING by 4 pts, the other was a div rd game at home in a TIE game.

Brady got the ball w/ 7:54 to play at his 20, led his team to a TD to give his team a 4 pt lead. NYG took over w/ 2:39 to play needing a TD.

manning got the ball w/ 12:09 to play in a TIE game at HOME. Bal got the ball back 7:06 to play.

can you NOW see the difference? I get that we all hate Brady but for once try to be fair.

The only one of those where Brady had a chance to run out the clock was NYG last year and his WR dropped a crucial 3rd down pass.

You guys can THINK you are right but the facts don't lie. It's amazing the lengths you guys will go to make excuses for manning, the 2 aren't even comparable. Brady now as "bad" as he is in postseason is the equivalent of peyton at his peak in postseason.

It's always someone elses's fault w/ the irrational manning backers.

who cares? if it's so easy to lead late game tying/winning FG drives why couldn't peyton do it at home last week?

You do know Peyton had Vinatieri as long as Brady, right? how come if it was all AV Peyton didn't magically become clutch in postseason?

you do know Peyton only has one late game TD to win a playoff game, right?

failures in late close games to cost team tie/win in postseason:

    Brady: zero
    Manning: SEVEN

He gets an awful lot of passing yards from throwing screen passes to a wide open welker or someone else that they easily run for ten, fifteen yards.

No other QB passes for so many yards like that.

By the way, we know Brady has struggled in postseason since winning his last SB but he still has a better win % than Manning removing the first 9 wins.

    Manning: 9-11 in postseason
    Brady since 2005: 8-7

A good God. Back to the excuses comment? The throw to Decker was right on the money. He NEEDS to make that catch. He let it bounce off his hands. The Fumble was a TUCK. I don't care what happened on some previous play. The fact is Manning led an 88 yard drive to take the lead only to watch the D let a 70 yard pass go over their head w/ :31 secs left. Brady led his 'O' to ZERO 2nd HALF POINTS yesterday!
