They had said before the NE game that Smith would play but would only be doing his seminole packages and Cromartie would return for him. Then gametime he was out. Hell be back this week, unless the game gets out of hand in our favor.
yeah it sounded facetious when he said it... like a "yeah plan on that, bc its not happening" kinda thing. so i don't know if you can really take rex on his word regarding smith. lets face it, he was a game changer last meeting. i know rex is forthcoming with injury reports and all, but its very early in the week still.. i highly doubt rex knows with certainty, but he's not going to allude to that for sure.
Exactly. All Ryan said is that Smith didn't play against Pasts, and that Steelers shouldn't plan to see him either. Seems like he was trying to send a message to the Steelers. It could just be mind games. If Rex knows Smith won't play, that message will certainly have Steelers game plan as if he WILL play, taking away their prep time for others. If Smith does play, teams game plan against him anyways.
