well here is the playmaker some people have been crying for, he was a one man highlight reel for missouri, and can be a randle el type guy for us, if cotchery develops into a #2 we have a pretty nice group of quick recievers. and we can take some plays from the steelers and see some reverse passes and such.
Awesome pick, he is a big time playmaker. HE will definetely make the switch. Im liking this draft so far.
Brad Smith will make people look stupid for many more years, only he gets to do it for the Jets now. I can't believe we get so lucky. This guy is the real thing, I'm just glad he's on my side now.
Smith is a nice kid. I have seen him interviewed several times. Hopefully, he can make the switch to WR, but honestly Michael Robinson intrigued me more. Here's hoping Robinson sucks and Smith doesn't.
This is a great 4th rd pick. You can take chances at greatness on the second day.. He is gonna be WR that can be coached into a great one.. Someone who can do it all, throw the pass on the reverse or line up in the backfield..Very excited about this pick..
Let me say this if he accepts the move to another position and is developed right, he can be our Boldin, but faster
Hiker, did you see a lot of Smith's games? You mentioned the Bowl game vs. South Carolina. Does he remind you of anyone in the NFL?
Smith is no running back, I don't think he has the size. He also probably doesn't have the speed of a Randle-El or Matt Jones, but I have confidence in his ability to be a useful player for us. Versatility is important.
This is the type of versatile football player we have watched the Patriots and Steelers draft in years past. I really like this pick a lot.
I've never seen anyone do what this kid could do. Every snap of the ball, he did something magic. Mostly running with it, he was incredibly hard to bring down and elusive. He makes defenders look very bad. And when he didn't run, he threw some real bombs, 40yds and deeper. He wasn't going by any playbook, it was sandlot football. He did it all by himself, and that's no joke. When he played by the book, he got his team in a 21-0 hole. When the coaches turned the guy loose, he destroyed my Gamecocks with nothing but his feet. I have to say the guy reminded me of Mike Vick on his best days. But that was college ball, and I don't want to sound like I'm crazy in saying that.
It's funny, this draft has been a roller coaster. I was a bit low on Ferguson (only because I thought it meant we wouldn't draft Mangold). I was extremely happy with the Mangold and Clemens pick. Then the last 2 yesterday had me scracthing my head but the Brad Smith pick sent chills up my spine. I absolutely love this pick.......
exactly, I hate to keep bringing up Pats players with our draft picks but you kind of have to. They are doing it the "Patriot way". But with Smith, you think Troy Brown only bigger, faster and a much better athlete.
