It's Brady, he could win w/ you and I as his top 2 WRs. he almost led NE to a SB w/ reche Caldwell and Jabar Gaffney as his top 2 WRs and no running game.
uh oh....we better hide underneath the table then. Herm Edwards isn't running this team anymore, junc.
I saw enough of Woodhead here to know he's a great story but he wasn't helping us. I'm not upset about us releasing him, he's another average guy that Brady helps to make look like he can play. Talent wise we are better than NE just about everywhere besides QB and NT but as good as our QB has been they have the best of this generation so it's a big edge to them.
Exactly. Woodhead is just a product of Brady and I was so tired of him being on this team. Remember him on ST last year.
Sorry for responding so late to this one, I haven't been on in a few days. It's in the Good McNight, Joe thread, which I'm not about to go through. You can find it by looking through the posts in which he said Leon should have stayed because "he's already won a game for Seattle", which made him a better fit. As I continuously pointed out that he wasn't necessary as simply a marginal improvement over Smith in the KR game and a RB without a place in our backfield, he just kept pointing to the 2 KR TDs as evidence that Leon was a SIGNIFICANT improvement. In hindsight, I should have held onto his 'talk to me when Smith returns one to help win a game' post. I did hang on to this one, though: Like I said, Leon is getting fewer carries than Smith in a much worse offense. There's no reason to have kept him given what we had on the team and his diminished role. We would have missed out on at least one future contributor to get Leon for one season in which he would have done little more to help us than what we already have. The reason junc gets these threads is not because anyone wishes to attack junc the person. They wish to attack his posting style. He posts like an arrogant asshole, while by all accounts he's a perfectly good person off the board. I've had several people tell me it's incongruous, but most people don't point out how poor some of his factpinions are because they don't want to get dragged into his lengthy debates that he'd rather stretch out than actually admit to be wrong. That's all I really care to say. Junc can now proceed to endlessly debate his side, but it's crystal clear to almost everyone which side the Jets came out on in their dealings with Leon. We got the best of his career from him and let him go when he ceased to benefit the team. What happened in between with him, his agent, and his wife was unfortunate, but it's in the past.
Well when that quote was made they didn't have Marshawn Lynch. Please post where I wrote that Brad Smith has to return one for a TD before he could be considered just as - if not more - valuable as Leon? the reason I get these threads is b/c posters love to try to get something over on me and when they cannot they resort to making things up. I never criticized Brad Sith, again I was one of the few who wasn't trying to run him out of town a few years ago. B/c I praised leon doesn't mean i dislike smith. I am supposed to sit back and watch people spread lies? I love the guys that spread lies then will bash me for wanting to set the record straight. If you cannot keep up in a debate don't call me out, when you do be prepared to back your position w/ facts. Unfortunately you could not do this b/c you chose to lie in your quest to finally get something over on me.
i was trying to find a pic of someone playing a mini-oboe.......because of your penchant for blowing on things.
we all know you have a love for playing the skin flute, junc......I mean, what else is there for you to partake in at Finheaven.
Well.. Leon was on the Seahawks roster the entire time. Why did Seattle go and get Lynch? It doesn't appear that anyone is saying you "attacked" or "criticized" Brad Smith -- rather you tried to make a case that Leon was more dynamic or more valuable because he won a game for Seattle earlier this year.
That's not even true. Brad Smith: 34 KR, 992 yds for a 29.2 yd average. Leon Washington: 33 KR, 926 yds for a 28.1 yd average. Smith is averaging more yards per KR than Leon. I'm not sure where your "fact" is coming from. Leon Washington WAS a better KR than Brad Smith. How can you call it "fact" that he still is? That's an implicit insult to Brad Smith.
Even disregarding returns as it's almost a wash, and I'm sure this has been mentioned before, but Smith provides more of a vertical threat than Leon. Add in that Leon's ability to make plays from the flats has been completely covered by LT makes Smith a much, much more useful player.
That was the entire point at the beginning. Leon MAY still be a better returner, but it's marginal, and he wasn't worth keeping. That was the point junc was arguing. Leon also, IIRC, fumbled one against the Giants early on that helped lead to a Giants rout. Any advantage to having Leon as a returner is opinion based and minimal, and wiped out easily by the disadvantage of losing a roster spot.
Brad Smith isn't even a RB and has more yards, much higher YPC too. Leon, 18 attempts for 59 yards, 3.3 YPC... ew Brad, 27 attempts for 216 yards, 8 YPC. I was a huge Leon supporter too, Brad Smith is superior in every way at this point. Brad's even got him beat in receiving stats and Brad as barely been out their for that role this season.
Yep. I mentioned that earlier. The key as well is, Leon would have been a one season rental to put up those numbers for us. He wasn't going to re-sign for us. Said so himself in an interview on Sirius.
