Wow, now! Just because I am smarter than you and didn't start a thread about Brad Smith being a viable starting option doesn't mean I'm a football genius! I appreciate the flattery though.
I'm all for chewin' out stupid OP's, but the backlash is a little excessive in this one. Brad Smith puts up positive yardage from the quarterback position, pure and simple. I don't trust him to make the throws Sanchez can make or the throws Brunell used to be able to make, but it's a safe bet that the Jets are expanding their Seminole repertoire as we speak.
You've brought nothing of substance to this thread. You must've gotten beat up a lot in school hence the need to be an internet bully
Brad Smith has never had to read an NFL defense outside of maybe 1 or 2 plays. I'm not gonna give a stupid response but the thought of starting Brad Smith at QB over our backups might just warrant one. Our QB's study film, practice, and read defense as a QB. Brad Smith has probably never practiced or watched film as a QB in the NFL.
Well, as far as we know. He's ok for a trick play or two but it's pretty clear there is no confidence from the coaching staff about handling 50 snaps a game and reading the defense.
Actually I brought reasons for why I think it could be an option. Hey here's something to consider just cause you don't agree with something doesn't mean it's dumb. Like I said you've probably gotten beat up a lot in school, so if being a tough guy in front of a computer screen makes you smile so be it. You must be a loser with no friends and keep in mind you're internet message board friends are not real friends.
OK, let's try this one more time. Next personal attack or post attacking the validity of the thread will result in a ban.
Here's the thing though, are you sure he's not in any QB film study? I mean they use the Seminole quit often he could be spending time in the QB meetings
If Brunell starts the most worrying thing for me is that Wayne Hunter will be protecting his blind side.
Fact, not opinion. KC wasn't trusted last year against Tampa, the gameplan proved it. Brunell doesn't have much left, struggling against 2nd and 3rd stringers in the preseason proved it. Brunell was brought in for his knowledge of the game he's amassed to help Sanchize, not for his current level of playing ability...
He's already involved in the WR, RB and Special teams meetings. I doubt very much that they have him in the QB meetings reading defenses. Of course there is no way for any of us to know. But the fact that he's not thrown one pass this year out of the wildcat (other than 1 two point conversion), tells me they have very little if not no confidence in him throwing the football. And if they don't have confidence in him throwing the football out of a formation that teams know we're gonna run it out of 99% of the time, then I don't see them putting him in a position to throw the ball out of normal formations.
You said the coaches don't have any confidence in anyone behind Sanchez to run the offense. That's your opinion, not a fact. Obviously Sanchez is the preferred option.
