pretty much how i feel, if the rumor that he had 4.5 Mil/yr sitting on the table and balked at it is dumb. that being said this guy has been team frist since he walked in the door, and has been one of the main reasons we started having a turn around. so I have no ill feelings towards someone whos a pro bowl talent trying to make more than his original 4th rd contract. just turns out a broken leg later, all of those plans are now down the toilet. all he can do is suck it up and prove hes worth a new contract or shop his services elsewhere. id hate to see him go to be honest. i think the field position he brings not to mention big play ability in between the tackles and catching out of the backfield or in the slot is tremendous and a rarity to find one player filling so many needs at a high level. we'll see how it plays out, funny to watch to many people want to throw him overboard so hastily though. like the word is, if anything will happen other than him being a Jet itll be in april.
If I were Leon that is what I'd do, he was on the verge of almost 5 million a year so if he truly is confident in himself he should take this approach. Unless he somehow feels jaded about the entire situation, but I doubt that feeling would come from Leon. his schmuck agent handles that department.
Nice post. Some here are really down on Edwards, but like you say he's the X factor, opening it all up for others. I think with a whole pre season of practices he will really shine.
