Exactly. He has talent, and most receivers don't break out until their third seasons anyway, and that's usually with high school and college careers at receiver, or at least college, anyway. He has ability. Will it translate into him being able to be a full-time receiver? It looked like it would last year, but this year not so much, at least so far.
No way should we cut him. He may not be a great reciever, he may drop passes, but the guy is a flat out ANIMAL on special teams coverage.
We Definately shouldnt cut him , he is very versatile but he does have problems holding onto the ball.
Nothing wrong with keeping him as a project WR when he's a beast on ST's. Remember Jerald Sowell made his living with the Jets as a terrific special teams player, who could also play some Fullback, not a Fullback who could play special teams.
A WR that can't catch is called a DB. He does everything else, why not try him there before we are done with him?
