I'm hoping this is the case too, but Cimini and Rappaport have reported this as well. I know you guys hate Cimini, but he seems to have strong sources within the Jets front office; he was one of the first to report that they were likely to draft Hackenberg in round 2. If Bowles was going to be fired, I think we would have seen a report indicating this by now. This franchise doesn't know when to cut the plug. He'll likely be gone by next year's bye. They're just delaying the inevitable.
Cimini was putting out pretty decent editorials as of late. Ok. I'm choosing to be optimistic here. I say they are keeping Bowles until Sean Payton will be shopped out.
I hate the negativity on this site, but with this season, I get it. My hope is Maccagnan makes some good moves this offseason, has a solid draft, and a Todd Bowles led team bounces back. I am interested to see what happens with the Coordinator positions though. All 3 really should be fired. If you do that, the Head Coach should probably go as well. So that puts the Jets in a tough spot. If I had to choose for anyone to get the ax, it would be Kacy Rodgers. Truly the worst DC I have seen on the Jets in years. I could even live with Gailey returning. Not Rodgers though.
"The only way I could live with Bowles coming back is if Gailey, Rodgers and Boyer are let go." The. Only. Way. I. Could. Live. With. Bowles. Coming. Back. Your words, right there. Now you can stop waiting and go to bed.
I suppose a "Bowles Must Go!" chant at Metlife is out of the question Sunday since there won't be enough people there who care.
This is one of the things I've been struggling to make sense of. Most people whom have been in favor of keeping Bowles have added the sentiment that we can 'just fire him next season, even midseason if need be.' What in the hell is the point? If we're keeping Bowles, we're keeping him past next season. If we're trying to save his job, and Maccagnan's too, look for another offseason of short term signings of aging veterans to bolster the roster for a strong record next year. And that's the wrong move. With all of the horrible decisions they've made in signings and hiring a lately, bite the fucking bullet and trade a second round pick for Payton. We've had terrible second round picks anyway, and we get a proven coach with a great winning percentage and a history of working with quarterbacks. I understand he's had Brees, but who has been orchestrating Brees' offenses all these years along with his rise from mid tier quarterback in San Diego to one of the most prolific passers of all-time in New Orleans? Sign Seany P. and defer offensive roster decisions to him. He's used to working with shite defenses and winning in spite of it. Let him build a points machine here.
Yes I stated that. Very good, you can copy & paste. And even edit! Brave new world, indeed! If only you could read even as well as you type. We obviously have differing opinions over what constitutes a pass. Where I'm from, grudging acceptance is not a "pass," however since it's apparent you struggle with subtlety, I'll let it "pass." No need to thank me.
While we're at it, let's trade two first round picks for Kirky and get out very own Brees/Payton love story here. Crazy or not to give up that many draft picks, I'd give up just about anything for a legitimate head coach/quarterback combination.
I would fire both Macc and Bowles as I don't think either are any good but one last chance for both of them is OK I guess.....They can still learn from mistakes as they are new at their jobs. I don't even need playoffs or bust, I just need progress from both of these guys that makes me think they are the right men for the job long term. Just give me a young and hungry team that plays hard every week and has a bright future. Another season even close to this disaster and it's definitely clean the house time The one thing I'm afraid of is both of them being scared to lose their jobs and not rebuilding the correct way.....It's how we end up with shitheads like Fitzpatrick....and it gets the Jets as a franchise NOWHERE
Thank U Woody for insuring that the 2017 season will be at least as bad or maybe even worse then the 2016 season is
Have you looked at the list of HC candidates? I really don't understand the excitement you guys can work up for Scott Linehan or Jim Schwartz. Or how you can expect anything other than a nuclear explosion when you put Todd Haley's short temper in the NY spotlight and under Head Coaching level pressure. I've seen plenty of bad from Bowles. I've seen plenty of bad from those guys, too. I'd rather give Bowles a chance to turn it around. If it doesn't work out, cross your fingers for a better HC pool next year--it might not be better, but it can't be worse.
Nobody better at there why not try Belly give him a piece of the team & whammo U have a top notch HC/GM which will begin the turnaround of the this team since we won SB3?
Absolutely right. I really enjoyed the show Tyreek Hill put on last weekend. Watching other teams and how they operate just reminds me how far the Jets have to go.
Well, Champ, I want to thank you: You finally introduced a scenario under which I would follow Cman's prescription and cease to be a Jets fan.
TBH, I haven't been a fanatic in quite some time. Since that where the term "fan" originates, you're right. I follow the Jets closely, but hardly as fanatical as some folks around here are. After 60+ years, I've learned to step back and reevalute what it is that gives me joy and agita. Most Agita from the Jets. If they do not turn things around by 2020, I'm done. I will be a Ex-Jet fan. I'll root for them, but I won't follow them as much as I used to. I'll be happy when the Jets win but I won't be angry when they lose. Just another day in the life in Jet Nation. #EnoughIsEnough
http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/...arshall-embarrassed-loss-new-england-patriots This article is less about the feud between 2 players and more about how poor of a motivator and team builder Bowles is. They compare him to a nagging parent, a person who you should, but probably won't listen too. Not good.
Well, I dont know exactly what Kacy Rodgers doing during the matches, but Bowles is responsible for defensive playcalling.
What kind of shithole organization has this become that we have a team full of children? I think the problems here are not with Bowles, but with the kinds of players our last two GMs have put on this roster. They shouldn't need their mommy and daddy out there. No wonder Bowles isn't thinking through the ins-and-outs of going for 2: he's too busy making sure Joe isn't standing too close to Bobby, and Jim isn't touching Fred....
"He does a good job of reminding us and telling us what to do, but it's just like a parent," Williams said. "You can constantly tell your kid to stay out of trouble, but they're going to get in trouble sometimes. It's the same type of thing. But you can't fault him." Yikes! Of all the bad signs we've seen, this is one of the most damning. I can't believe we're going into 2017 by keeping this guy around. It's like guaranteeing another pitiful 4-12/5-11 season.
