Coslet was horrible. 4-12,8-8,6-10,8-8 Lucked into a playoff spot at 8-8 ,never posted a winning record.
Coslet always fashioned himself as the smartest guy in the room, an offensive genius. Not. I don’t think Bowles thinks if himself as anything more than a humble hardworking blue collar guy.
I guess we get to see how Lucky Bowles does with Darnold lol Comparing early career failures between Bowles and a future HOF coach..??? Are you serious ??? and no he is in HOF because he knows how to manage and win games ..with or without TB
Hindsight being 20/20 yeah. But the point is they damn near ran him out of Cleveland early on. But some of their remarks could never have been as dumb and clueless as some posters here. That and the butt hurt along with the hate makes it all highly entertaining. That Toilet will prolly be here for two more years is beautiful and a delicious icing on the cake.
How did you miss Kotite? Bowles has had 2 teams whos records were better than predicted given the talent level. 2 overachieving teams out of 3. Not sure how hes so much worse than any of these coaches, its not clear cut, hardly an absolute.
I cannot understand why so many of U are fixated on Belly record in Cleve instead of pointing out the far more current that he is a 5 time SB winning coach presently
Well currently Bowles record isn't brilliant and in the future he may be a 5 time superbowl winner, I guess they are making a point that you can be shit one minute and then great the next or maybe you just need to luck into that QB and on you go.
Maybe we should compare Bowles record years 1-3 with Bellichicks record years 7-23. That would be fair.
Bowles is on the hot seat, maybe not to produce a playoff run, but I think at least do better than 5-11. Even with the lack of talent on this roster, it has improved over last year and Bowles has to prove that he looks the part when the Jets do start getting better talent on the roster. Many of his errors are correctable. He has to coach better situational football and he has got to stop the conservative crap.
You are viewing NFL as a “step-up” from NCAA and while is some ways it can be perceived as so, it really isnt the case. As some have said, $$$ is often better at college level, for the top tier guys. Pro sports is also one of the few dynamics where the “org chart” and salary dont follow traditional paths... the players make more and in many cases have more control and staying power than the coach. In college not the case. In college u are also the defacto GM, free to recruit the players YOU want, not the ones the GM or President sign for you, or owner is willing to spend for. There is more, and to each their own... but you really are looking at very shortsightedly if your view is coaching at the NFL level is without any doubt better and more prestigious than the NCAA level
Thanks for a full and good explanation, it just isn't like this in the UK, which is why from the outside it looks weird looking in.
Bowles is 10-23 in his last 33 games coached. He deserves to be there. Jackson is an abysmal disgrace. Looked promising with Oakland. Jets I think already are thinking Bates will be the guy to succeed Bowles. Stop with the Belichick crap that is such an anomaly. Plus Bowles will never have Brady. Belichick wouldn't be Belichick without Brady either. Not saying he wouldn't be good but it's not like pre Brady Belichick was a small sample size either
Because his career in Cleveland, the view by just about everyone that he couldn't coach, was the NFLs worst changed when he had a team with talent. Funny how that works.
Bowles just appeared on Netflix Luke Cage. Anyone remember what happened in the season after “Mangenius” appeared on The Sopranos?
