    NC Jet Fan:
    I usually agree with your posts, but not this one. Rex is not a moron, he just is another example of "the Peter principal". A Defensive guru, OK, but that got old by the middle of the second year. The constant blitzs were beaten by sharp OC's and quick firing QB's. He seldom changed the D schemes for the 2nd half. That lack of adjustment lead to too many failures. There couldn't be anyone watching that didn't know the blitz was coming.
    I won't pass any judgement until the middle of the practice sessions and may just wait until after 3-4 games to come to firm ideas about the new CS. But my hopes are up!

    BTW: I will have to work out a new avatar as I'm tired of looking at the copycat Acad from Ca who posts. Don't want any confusion with his posts.

    Thanks. That's fair enough. I think he's a moron for many reasons: predicting the SB with a rookie QB, because of his bluster, constant bragging and talking tough, but rarely backs it up, his bringing such a circus to the Jets, getting a tattoo of his nude wife with nothing on but Sanchez' Jets jersey, failure to get the team prepared, getting blown out so many times, constantly getting beaten following the bye week, inability to manage the clock, being too lazy or too stupid to learn about offense (or realizing how necessary it is for a HC to know how to handle a QB and at least know something about offense), thinking he can win in today's NFL with defense if the offense just doesn't screw it up, failure to be able to make adjustments, lack of discipline/failure to hold players accountable, inability to learn or refusing to realize that he was shooting himself and the team in the foot with his failings. I think he thinks he's a lot smarter than he actually is.

    NC;
    You really laid bare most of his failings. So I'll just have to find another word to replace "Moron".
    Maybe just incompetent?

    Incompetent is a good word. It's just that I equivocate someone who is incompetent as a moron. Many of those things aren't that difficult to grasp. I'm no rocket scientist and have never played a down of organized football. I've been a fan and student of the game for 52 years, however. Rex is a coach's son. He grew up around the game. Unless he's and utter and complete moron imo, there's no way that he should have all the failings he does and not realize the problems with his philosophy and approach. I just think that he doesn't have the common sense or intelligence to realize that he's wrong, that his approach ultimately doesn't work, and that he has a LOT to learn. His ego is huge, but it may be a smokescreen, as insecure people often become bullies and big mouths to hide their fears and insecurities. I'd be willing to bet that we see the exact same Rex in Buffalo, i.e., he didn't learn one darned thing from his 6 years as HC of the Jets. IMO that goes waaaay beyond incompetence and into the realm of total ignorance, stupidity and being a moron.

    If you're saying that you've had the avatar before I joined, then you're more than welcome to it.

    I didn't think anyone had it...and I checked...as much as possible.

    You have to admit it does capture so many levels of NY Jet fandom.

    Don't make me use this as an avatar-

    Didn't know about the other guys, but yours looks like a LeRoy Neiman painting. Back in the day he was very popular and captured a lot of the compelling sports figures and moments, especially in New York where he lived. Nice avi, btw ;)

    OK...as much as I love the Neiman...you do have provenance.

    I'll go with the LA Joe for a bit...until I find something better.

    Why not. I've been stuck in LA for near 30 years.

    Joe lasted one.
