Comparing what beli would have done with the goat and what Bowles did in week 6 with a rookie is totally apples to apples.

Regardless of what BB would've done, it would've been smart to take a shot at the EZ there.

Meh, the Jets scored over 40 points for the first time in 6 years. I'll skip the 'too conservative' talk this week and call it 'smart football' instead.

Imagine being fucking miserable enough to come to a website and start this thread after the game your favorite team played this afternoon. Couldn’t be me.

Maybe,risk/reward was probably 50/50 but that doesn’t change the strength of the ops argument.

So frustrating. Should have beaten Browns and Dolphins. This team should be 5-1

    Unless he meant at home.

But yeah, 7 FGs means he is being conservative. Robby had a drop in the redzone as well, which should have led to 7 points vs 3 points.

Bowles is GREAT (as a DC) not HC.

After this year ask him if he would be willing to be a DC.

Look at all the former HC who have taken lesser jobs

    Callahan
    Turner
    Capers
    Haley
    Romeo
    Sporano
    Williams

God this list is longer than I care to type- names just keep popping into my head

Ask him to be DC or go away

    6 years at home - my mis-type.
As 50shades mentioned, Robby's miscue would have meant 3 TD's for Sam. Points are points - we're ragging on Bowles for being too conservative with a 21 year old QB after scoring 42 when clearly, Bates has been opening the offense more and more each of the past two weeks.
There are legit arguments with this coaching staff, but let's be real here - the offense is maturing right along with Sam.

They don't take lesser jobs with the team that just fired them.

Are you paying by the thread or something? Why is it any skin off your nose that he made a thread about it? I'll never understand the attitude you displayed and that other here display regarding threads, like they should only happen upon the grant of a charter by a king or something. It's a topic worthy of a discussion thread, even though it's been mentioned before in other threads.

We all know you cant stand our coach, so I see why you'd defend this.

But to answer your question, it's an annoyance. A lot of things are annoying with the Jets during each game for sure. But why make another thread with every fleeting reaction during a game?

How many did we score, 42? Damn, we would have had 46 if Bowles wasn't so flipping conservative.

Thanks for your answer. I agree that it would be annoying if everything that went wrong or every bad decision had its own thread, but Bowles' conservatism has been a consistent thread throughout his tenure with the Jets. It has been directly responsible for some losses, contributed to others and quite possible was responsible for others. To date, there have only been isolated comments here and there in different game threads or a Bowles thread. I think it makes sense for this to be discussed further.

One of the valid points made is that half of our points came on FGs, NOT TDs. We can't count on our kicker to score 21 points ever week on FGs. Our red zone success rate is abysmal. No team wins often with red zone rate statistics like we have. It won't help Sam develop, either. I'm sorry that you can't see its importance and/or think it worthy of discussing.

Even if I were a Bowles supporter, no one is perfect. All HCs have areas in which they can improve. So again, I think it's not unreasonable to have a thread to discuss what appears to be a major weakness.

Yeah Bowles is way to conservative. Should have gone for it with 4th and 2 from the Jets 10 yard line
