Today’s game proves that Todd should.........NOT come back We have a legit raw talent...RAW Sam won despite Todd, not because of Todd I genuinely like Todd as a human being from what I see But that doesn’t win games We need to develop this kid or at least TRY to develop him Todd and staff are not the top candidates to do this development. Sorry. That’s my feeling.
Hang yourself. He's fired if they win every game and Mega Millions and he finds Jimmy Hoffa and cures cancer.
Well..... if he cures cancer I think maybe we could find it in our hearts to give him another season. Mega Millions and finding Hoffa though your right.... absolutely not enough.
If Todd Bowles can find definitive proof that theres Alien space craft at Area 51 then i say give him 1 more year. And i dont mean a blurry picture or video i want to see a gray alien dragged out onto the field at halftime. If he can do that he has my vote...
Bowles dragging the alien, no. But if the alien drags Bowles 40 yards in 3.8 seconds and says Bowles stays or I go home, hey... ok, let’s talk.
The laying on of Bowles is getting old. It's like beating up a 98 year old elder. It's a foregone conclusion he's gone/ Time to start really laying into Macc. He's the real problem here and poses a serious threat if retained.
One would certainly hope that it's a foregone conclusion that Bowles will no longer be the coach after Week 17, but given the Jets' ability as a franchise to constantly pull defeat from the jaws of victory, I could see a scenario in which he saves his job with a win over one of the three teams we have left down the stretch. It's pretty clear by this point that Jets ownership, when presented with multiple options in any given decision, will pick the worst possible option just about every time.
To me the best possible scenario last week would have been Darnold getting that TD to take the lead and then Bowles' defense blowing it. Didn't happen. Now I'm afraid that if they win another game (which that mess of a Packers teams is certainly a possibility) that the status quo 5-11 season will save Bowles' job.
+1 to this. I am not happy with the win because they didn't let Darnold throw the ball to win the game.
The FO needs to think long and hard about what the future of this team actually is and whether the current coaching staff fit that vision. Obviously, most of us don't think they do. They paid a premium to move up and draft Darnold, ensuring his success has to become the #1 priority for this franchise, so any decision they make regarding the HC needs to be made with that in mind. A couple of wins at the end of the season after we've been eliminated from playoff contention should not affect that.
I'm pretty sure that's what Pete Carroll was thinking when he allowed Wilson to pass the ball at the goal line instead of simply handing it off to Lynch in the Super Bowl against New England. 1st & goal from the 1 hand it off to the big back who gives a rat's behind who the 'hero' is? Just win the game.
That was a phenomenal run by Eli. It took smarts and patience to not just slam it in to the line and let things set up for him. Just as impressed with that as I was with Sam. Eli is part of the future. I have no problems with how that played out
If the Jets somehow win out I don't see how they can fire him. Unless Jim Harbaugh is coming who's out there? I'm looking at the names on the list in the pick the next coach poll/thread I'm not too excited. It would mean the team is still playing for him when they could have easily called it a season/quit on him. If they win out that'd mean he had the team playing it's best ball at the end of the season in two of his four seasons as HC of the NYJ. We're a long, long, loooooong way from that but man I think they can beat Houston & Green Bay. New England on the road will be the tricky one.
