i need to see these guys in preseason action to get a better idea of where they are currently at. but based on past game tape, i'd rather put Fitzpatrick out there week 1, and take things from there.
The third scenario is that the Jets just didn't know if Fitzpatrick would be ready to go at the start of the season due to the injury and they didn't see any downside to giving Geno every chance to win the job right up until the point that he either won it outright or Fitzpatrick was healthy enough to take it. I hope that's the scenario in play because if Geno isn't ready to go it means Fitzpatrick will hit the field as soon as he is fully recovered.
we blew it on several occasions - can't regret on it now, Jets have to move on and make it work - at least for this year. Not having Bridgewater or Carr on this team sucks big time, but there's nothing the Jets can do about it now.
One thing i'm glad about is Geno has thick skin. He doesn't let these "fans" get to him.. he never did. He never lets the big moments or low moments change his attitude even back at WVU, that's why i always liked him. The ONLY time i can say he let things get to him was draft day... With that being said I think he'll enjoy his best pro season this year and his first post season appearance. The only thing i think really that may hold him back is our o-line getting him killed.. if he's running for his life in the pocket and rattled it'll just be another one of those years : /
Right, ONLY on draft on National Television when you are still trying to show teams that you are worth a pick, and ONLY that OTHER time when he told a fan to go fuck themselves. Otherwise he is as cool as can be! Listen, I'm definitely not the one out there booing Geno in the preseason, but I'm also not the one sitting here defending him.
So what. He got booed. I doubt he's the first QB at a practice to get booed...the media just picked up on it since there's not much Jets news this offseason. Would I have booed him? No. But I impartial to what happened.
