Glass Joe, er Chad Pennington, will not only start and finish this season he will win comeback player of the year. There's going to be a ton of apology-posting here there and everywhere come December.

I wonder if George Jetson has already started trolling Vikings messageboards?

I guess I like this trade. I wish the best of luck to Brooks. We need DT depth with injuries to Pouha and Tui.

awesome pickup! mosley replaced kevin williams as their starting DT last season and was VERY productive. he's big but he's also very athletic and a good pass rusher. nice move :)

I find posts like this very puzzling. I completely understand that this is what you hope will happen, and I even understand your belief that if Chad plays the entire season he will do very well, but when you state that he will start and finish the season and win comeback of the year, you are being no more sensible than people who state that he will be injured by the third game. Obviously no one really has any idea one way or the other.

Personally, I think there's a reasonable chance that he will get hurt, and also a reasonable chance that even if he doesn't, he won't be all that effective. I hope I'm wrong, but I certainly won't apologize for having that opinion if it turns out that he stays healthy and does well. By the same token, I won't be asking you to apologize if he does get hurt or is ineffective.

As to the topic at hand, this part of the scouting report on Mosley was interesting: "Like his teammate Ellison, he has a chance to go late on the first day, but needs to work harder on his conditioning and dedication or he could be a third-round bust." Sounds like another example of someone who isn't a "Mangini guy" - which I'm okay with, by the way. If the culture of the team is one of accountability and dedication (as seems to be the case for the Mangini Jets), that gets transmitted to people who might be lazier, and can prompt them to work harder.

they got more , much more, for bolly than you could get for noodle arm. teams around the league were lined up to trade for a statue who's a fumble and interception machine. between the tampa game and that laser pass the egg laid into mcquarters arms, the phones must have been ringingoff the hook to take the $64 million towel-waver off our hands. a used bag of footballs was the highest offer. if tanny could get half as much for noodle as he got for bolly, then he's the nfl executive of the century!

Mosley is a load and he had 3 sacks in under 6 games of time. Like the trade, even though I like Bollinger as a backup.

Bollinger really sparks things, even though he was never going to play on this team. I really like what Tannebaum and Mangini did here, in saying that Bollinger would start the last preseason game, probably to bump up his value as if we actually needed him.

I think he could be a borderline decent starter. Along the lines of Trent Dilfer, with more mobility.

Well that is a terrible analysis for a NT. But regardless we needed another body at NT position, it is probably our weakest position on the entire defense.

Ive never been as down on Bollinger as others. I personally think hes going to end up starting his share of games over the next couple years, I think hes a perfect fit for the sort of game Childress wants to play in Minnesota. Right now thats Brad Johnson's job, but hes an old man.

As for the pickup, I remember hearing this guys name around draft time... not so much since then though. Obviously hes not exactly a stunner, but hes a body at a position of need, wheras we have plenty of other guys to play quarterback, one of whom is the starter and the other 2 were brought in by this regime, while Bollinger was a leftover. Hard to argue with the decision.

If Chad Pennington wins Comeback Player of the Year, I certainly will apologize for calling him Glass Joe.
I don't know what you found puzzling statjet. The superhero obviously has mancrush on Chad and was offended.
We're all Jets fans, the season hasn't started. Everyone do some yoga or smoke pot or something to mellow the f out.

I'll be surprised if the pick is higher than the 6th round.
