I see your point, but hypothetically (is it even worth talking about since this trade is not going to happen? But either way for the fun of having an intelligent argument) Boldin would be a tremendous weapon for an inexperienced QB because he can turn short screens and intermediate passes into big gains and really stimulate the production of an offense with a young QB. It would especially help a young QB to have a target he could look for underneath that can create huge gains from shorter passes. I think Hakeem Nicks could do similar things for Ratliff/Clemens, which is one of the reasons why he would be a great pickup for us.

wow you cannot compare cotch to boldin and even say boldin is a cotch type player...maybe there similar but boldin is on a whole different level and him and cotchery would be sick combo and we would have speedy guys in stuckey and clowney

I saw that Nicks was projected to go to us on a couple of mock drafts, so who knows.

Like I said, Boldin is a very good player, one tough mofo, and while he doesn't have Fitz speed he can still break big plays. I just think that for the money he would want we'd be wiser to look at other options, younger options with longer term potential. B. Edwards perhaps... not sure what Mangini has in mind but he's already ditched Winslow and rumors that B. Edwards is on the block have floated around already.

I would prefer Edwards over Boldin. Boldin might be a better WR at this time but I think Edwards has better upside.

I'll admit that Cotch is a poor mans Boldin, but I just don't see Boldin as a true #1 either... I see Boldin and Cotch as possesion WRs.

Boldin's played 12 games each of the last two years. He's only had two full seasons in six years. Why would we take an injury prone older receiver and replace him with an injury prone younger receiver? He's averaging less than 12 games a season for his career.

i'm really not worried about the wr and i'll tell you why.san diego.they we're in the play-offs for like three straight years and never really had a true #1.but what they did have is a great running back and atonio gates.so even with out a wr to worry about the defense couldn't stack the box because of the threat of gates down the seam.now we don't have l.t. or gates obviously but we do have the afc leading rusher and an up and coming dustin keller who i believe is gonna be as good as gates.and that should be enough to keep this offense.

I wouldn't be so sure of that. Do you think AZ is going to dismantle the #1 WR tandem in the NFL just to take a gamble on another 1st round prospect? Realistically, it'd probably take at least 1st, a 2nd, and a 5th (or something) to get them to part ways with him.

chris chambers and vincent jackson are becoming quite a tandem in san diego.

Jackson has gotten better every year.

He has played 10, 12, and 12 games in 3 of his 6 seasons. This is exactly the kind of player I would not want the Jets to be depending on. Injury-prone players get more so as they age not less.

Warner resigned...Warner also said he would not come back unless Boldin stayed...it makes no sense to resign Warner at his age then turn around and trade Boldin....that would be senseless....if they wanted to move Boldin they would not have brought back Warner....

Im always skeptical about the second guy...Scotty Pippen guy. The guy that gets numbers because of whos on the other side. Granted, he has put up great numbers. I guess the same argument could be made about the Jets signing Scott.

First round pick? Without a sure #1 qb? I think there has to come a time for Tanny that draft picks need to be protected..you can work your way around trading 3rd and 4th round picks..but to be constantly losing picks?

I would be happy if I woke up and he was a Jet..very unhappy come draft day with us sitting there with our thing in our hand during the first round.

The Jets are probably done with big ticket players. They have about 11 million left under the cap after the rookie pool is deducted. They won't be spending any of it on a big name WR.

I am quite sure that the Bidwills are a cheap NFL family, and they are historically inept as well. Old Bill Bidwill put his two sons in charge of the team a while back and they made the franchise more of a joke than they had been for the previous decade. It looks like the culture may have changed somewhat with the Cardinals, but I think it is all too possible (I didn't imply it was for sure, only possible) that they end up promoting Breaston to #2 WR and shopping Boldin around the league. This draft is supposedly deep at wideout. I think some team, in that situation, could get Boldin for a 1st alone, or maybe a 1st and a late round pick. A 1st, a 2nd AND a 5th??? Are you joking?

No jokes here. That's the price you have to pay for a proven top-tier player. Which is precisely why Boldin will remain a Cardinal.
