Bryce Petty looks like the Jets' best quarterback during training camp and preseason. Knowing that he can't start in his rookie year, Mac and Bowles agree it's in the franchise's best interest to start the season with Geno. He plays serviceably but a tough schedule drops the Jets to 2-4. After a loss to the Patriots, Bowles makes a switch but surprisingly not to Fitz, deciding that 7 weeks of observation is enough for Petty. He comes in and leads the Jets to an 8-8 finish, in part helped by an easier second half schedule. He throws 15 touchdowns and 8 interceptions in his 10 games, and the organization is comfortable going into 2016 with him as the starter.
Geno starts every game, 27 TD's, 14 ints. Jace Amaro gets 800+ yards receiving, 8 TD's. Eric Decker is the leading receiver with 1200+ yards…but Brandon Marshall leads the team in receptions with 85. Buster Skrine leads the team in interceptions with 5. Lorenzo Mauldin nets a team leading 12 sacks. the jets get 55+ sacks in total. the jets clinch the postseason before week 17.
Geno is replaced at the bye week (ok not that bold)..Fitz takes over the 1-3 Jets and leads us to an 11-5 finish. Coples leads the team in sacks and makes the Pro Bowl. Bowles wins coach of the year

That's OK - this is my prediction. Ridley is a 3 down back and just as talented if not more. Ridley gets healthy, he's going to steal carries away. EDIT - Only reason Ridley didn't get more receptions / chances is because Shane Vereen is prob the best 3rd down back in the entire league.

The Jets will win 10+ games overall and at least 7 at home for the first time since 1998 and only the second time ever. Fuck it. Why not?
1. Dee Milliner will have a season ending injury within 2 games of activity 2. GS's play in the preseason will have many shouting to start Fitz in game 1.
Geno fails miserably in the pre season and Fitz gets hurt so Bowles gambles on Petty. Petty leads the team to wildcard game and the defense carries the team back to the AFC championship where they lose a shoot out to eventual Super Bowl MVP Andrew Luck. in 2016 and 2017 we win the division both times not making it to super sunday. 2018, Petty now in his fourth year loses a closely contested NFL MVP to the same Andrew Luck before besting him in the conference championship on route to the New York Jets second Lombardi Trophy.

Geno gets the starting job out of camp, but is put on a short leash. Predictably, he fails in the first half of the season opener, and is replaced by Ryan Fitzgerald for the start of the second half. Fitzgerald plays valiantly, but the comeback ends up short. In week 2, Fitzgerald's season is ended once again when he suffers a broken leg in the 2nd quarter against the Colts, eerily similar to last year. Bryce Petty comes off the bench to win the game, then goes on to win his first 3 NFL starts, lifting the Jets to 4-1 heading into a week 7 matchup at New England (who enters the game 1-4 after suffering a 45-7 thumping to the Colts in Brady's first game coming off suspension. "Broadway Bryce" shirts and merchandise set new NFL sales records. In another twist of fate, Jerod Mayo delivers a hard hit to Petty's chest as he's scrambling out of bounds, and is replaced by Geno. Jets go 9-2 the rest of the way, suffering a stunning loss to the Giants in week 13, giving Mike Francesa one final week of on-air gloating before he is unceremoniously fired when it's discovered he had engaged in a 30 year pattern of administering quaaludes to unsuspecting goats in order to gain a sexual advantage over them. The Jets, having wrapped up the #1 seed in the AFC with their week 16 beat down of NEP, activates everyone off the practice squad and lays down for the Bills in week 17. The win allows Buffalo to finish at .500 for the second straight year, although once again out of the playoffs. Buffalo throws a parade, and Rex is given the key to the city. EDIT: Rex suddenly retires three days after the season ends, as he announces he is filling the vacant 1pm-6pm time slot n WFAN.

The NYJ give up more passing TDs than rushing TDs, but more rush yardage than passing yardage. 5. The NYJ tie for the best record in the AFC East, but lose the Division on a tiebreaker (head-to-head). NFL A. The Falcons win the NFC South with a winning record. B. Drew Brees is traded before the deadline C. Either the Chargers or the Raiders move into Levi Stadium with the 9ers. D. The Colts puts up almost as many points as the record-setting Broncos from a few years back, but wins less than 14 games.
LOL Where else but in a "Bold" prediction thread, and if we can't be hopeful and optimistic now before the season begins, when can we? I fear that cold, hard reality will set in all too soon anyway as regards Geno. I don't hate Geno like some others do. He has talent. Supposedly, he's working hard to improve. I think that with an offense designed to maximize his strengths and minimize his weaknesses, one where his comfort level will be higher and thus he should be more confident, with a much better receiving corps and RB corps, and with an OC who has gotten the best play out of every QB that he's coached, I have to believe that there will be at least some improvement, maybe even significant improvement. Will it be enough? Probably not, but we'll have plenty of time to accept and deal with that during the season if it comes to that. Now is the time for optimism and high hopes.
I can't see the D switching to a 4 man front full time. While we have the DL for it, we don't have the LBers for it at all. I could see the other 4 happening perhaps. In your alternatives, I'd say that #3 is a lock NOT to happen!
