    The Vatican?

It's the center of Christendom and is adorned with some of the most famous icons of Catholicism in the world.

It would be like hitting the Twin Towers times 1000.

The way I see it, even if you have the misfortune of being in the wrong city when they strike, the chances of your being at the attack site is extremely small. Manhattan is far more dangerous in terms of just crossing the street. That's not to say you should travel to Syria or Libya, because then I'd say your chance is about 99% that your head will part ways with the rest of your body

I think the fairer question is: Is there a safe haven anywhere in the Western World?

If we were to read tomorrow that 36 people had been blown to smithereens at the deli counter of a Toledo Shop-Rite by someone holding an exploding ham and screaming "Allahu Akbar!", the only surprising part would be the ham.

Oh I completely agree. The Paris attacks were horrific, right?

Less than 400 people died in a city of 2 million. Sad to say but it's true--those are pretty good odds.

We're going to be flitting all over Tuscany and I highly doubt that they are going to target San Giamingiano and even if they did, what's the likelihood that they do it exactly they day we'll be there, and exactly the wine bar?

Having said that, my niece had a trip planned to Istanbul next month through her school and the school canceled it. Good move.

Yeah, I'm not traveling to anything remotely on the edge, I just need to make sure my son doesn't decide to travel to Islamabad.

    Pussies.

I remember the old days when terrorists didn't have to rent baggage carts.

We get it, you don't like muslims and you blame the religion for this nightmare act.

These individual hackings, slashings, killings are the same stories we hear in Israel vs Palestine, India vs Pakistan, South Korea vs North Korea

Instead of pinning it on a religion, look at the political influence built in these countries where they use religion as their propaganda to drive their hate towards the western countries.

Fear is the goal, panic is the ambition, making a statement that they are still here even after the Paris master mind was caught and no attacks for some time is what they want to do. Their tactic to get enough people ANGRY so they go guerilla warfare in their towns and go full blown suicidal.

Someone said they are bored people, well they are in places like Syria...They want to fight but instead they persecute other religions and the other NATIVES/TRIBAL people of the area.

I have my issues with extremists and even some people of faith that take things over the top, but it is soooo lame blaming this on religion.

We might as well have abolished Christianity during our persecution and "terrorism" the religion was conducting throughout Europe back during the Crusades/Middle Ages.

Poe, you're a reasonable and intelligent guy, but you absolutely lose me on anything else included in the argument when you equate 2016 with 1200, no matter the context. It's a subtle (and sometimes not so subtle) way of excusing horrific acts of today. I don’t think we need to twist ourselves in knots trying to avoid the obvious. When people start yelling “Yankees Suck!” and blowing up bus stations, I’ll know that it’s safe to blame Red Sox fans.

The point is in 1200 and in 2016, people were using religion to push their agenda. The specific context being talked about is different, but Christianity had a problem with everyone.
This is coming from a Roman Catholic who has a strong faith so that is what I am trying to compare this religion hate to.

No no, I get the point. Except that ___________ evolved, while many _____________ favor a return to the 13th Century. With Twitter and iPhones.

If it takes more than a few seconds to fill in the blanks, you're trying too hard to avoid the obvious.

Sure, religion has nothing to do with this. They just happen to be all Muslims. It must be some weird coincidence.

Your comparison to whatever was happening 800 or so years ago is plain silly. Back in those years every other religion was behaving pretty much in the same violent way. Now there's only one.

While all other religions have evolved over the years, Islam continues being as violent as 800 years ago.

I am really tired and not in the mood writing a very long article. But if I could write, I could show the historical perspective of Islamic violence and explain all these suicide bombs very clearly.

If you really want me to write about this, paypal me 5 bucks each and if I hit 50 bucks, I will write my article. I am telling you. You don't wanna miss this insightful super valuable article.

Would this article be limited to the last 5-10-20-30-40 years or are you going to dredge up what happened 1000 years ago or 500 years ago and try to rationalize what is happening to day to what happened back then?
