Wow... alot of dumping on Joba today on WFAN for the fist pump... I guess showing life and emotion is for every other team except the Yankees
beat me to it. Joe has to be the coolest athelete i have ever met. I met the Sack Exchange 2 years ago at a signing. i got up there and my camera screwed me. he told me to run down to the store and get a disposable. I did and he let my kids and i cut the line and get a pic.
Why WHY WHY do we have to go into another season with Mike Pussina? He is such a pussy. he might as well pitch in slow pitch softball.
In fairness, Giambi and/or Molina cost him that first run. And the ump cost him the second and third, since he he had strike three on what's-his-face. That's not to say he's pitching well tonight. Just that the score isn't where you'd expect it to be given the situations.
the man has no out pitch. its a s simple as that. he can get 0-2 on somebody but its worthless because he then has to start nibbling on corners hoping to catch a call...it happens over and over and over again. HE HAS NO OUT PITCH!
I don't disagree with that. I'm just saying that he's pitching better than his line. When your fastball is sitting at 85 mph, you're not going to be able to make mistakes. I think we all know that. He'll be pitching to contact all year. We'll just have to hope that he doesn't miss his spots very often. If he does, he'll get shellacked. With the exception of the Wells blast (which shouldn't have even occurred if the ump was being consistent in the slightest), they haven't hit him hard. And he's been hitting his spots. Regardless, Moose in 2008 is gonna be a tense ride.
I haven't had the chance to mention this yet this year, but I absolutely despise Mike Mussina. He's a total piece of shit on the mound. F that "didn't pitch that poorly" bullshit. He pitches poorly every outing. When he pitches "good" it means he pitches good for Mike Mussina, not that he actually pitches good. As for that first run, it was his own fault. On the replay they showed he didn't get to first to cover, and as a result, rather than getting the out, Giambi got charged with an error. You can balme Molina for being a total douchebag not catching a good, in-time, throw from Abreu though. F Moose. I want his ass out of here yesterday.
We're all well aware of your opinion of Moose. That doesn't change the facts. Moose was not responsible for covering on that play. Giambi got charged with an error for muffing a ball that he should have caught. And if he did, in fact, catch it, there's no doubt he would have taken it himself. And please don't make me pull out the starts Moose has made in the past two seasons that have been more than just "good for Moose" but outright good/great. You don't like him. We get that. But try not to let that get in the way of your analysis of his outings.
I'm not going to get into a jonnydesque argument with you about this Cappy. I've never liked Moose. Even friends I have from Baltimore didn't like him for his seeming inability to pitch when a game matters, so it's not like my perception is solely my own invention. Yes, Giambi muffed the ball. Yes, had he fielded it cleanly, he'd have made the play himself. However, he didn't, and it's the pitcher's responsibility to cover first whenever a first baseman fields a ground ball. BTW: I'm pretty sure I'm not the only Yankee fan on this board who doesn't like Moose. Post all the stats you want, the guy still sucks ass, and I can't wait until his contract finally ends this winter.
the man had an ERA over 5 last year. Take off the yankee goggles. We dont need you to list good starts oveer the last two years. give me his cumulitive ERA over the last two seasons. Hawkins looks good too by the way, I know you were looking forward to seeing him pitch this year.
