    That typifies the attitude of many Jets fans and probably Rex who don't care about the economics of football just immediate gratification.

    So your saying we shouldn't have upgraded our team at all until we found a franchise QB? If thats the case then the Jets are idiots for trading for Marshall , signing Decker , Revis and Cromartie..............wait........?!?!? Do you guys think before speaking.........whats the difference between you guys QB situation and ours?

    Big play Clay is a good signing for you guys. Everyone overpays in FA and it just happens to be a good TE. I have no idea what the outrage from jetland is about this one, its a solid move to shore up a hole on buffalos team.

    That article quote is extremely misleading. They are comparing one guy's base salary to another guy's base salary plus bonuses.

    Your other argument regarding the cap is circular. The reason Miami won't match it is because of the high 2016 cap it. Take that away and they may match.

    In my post I said I understood that part. It's the whole, being stuck with an average TE, when Miami smartly doesn't match, at a very high cap number that I don't get.

    It doesn't make sense he's put up average numbers he's not even a top 15 TE

    This is all Roman's doing more than it is Ryan's and he convinced Whaley to sign him no matter the cost. But I wouldn't be surprised if Whaley had his eye on him before last season ended. Whaley did a hell of a job getting us Hughes, so it's safe to say he probably saw something in Clay himself. Clay is very much an improvement over Chandler
