He made quite a few throws down the field on Thursday before getting hurt.

I mentioned this in the Bills vs Jets thread. The Bills OL is weak. If the Jets DL can dominate the Bills OL then an upset is possible. If Allen has time to throw then forget it the Jets will lose. The Bills WR's vs the Jets secondary is a big advantage for the Bills. I expect the Bills D to be very tough against the Jets O and it doesn't matter if its Wilson or White playing.

Not with the way our offense has been playing the last two weeks.

NFL defenses don't do this as a rule. Defending medium chunk gains is considered more important than flooding the flats. One reason is that it takes a lot of defenders to potentially cover from sideline to sideline that close to the line of scrimmage. When you make that kind of commitment it is easy for any short pass to turn into a chunk gain if the receiver makes one tackler miss.

The reason Mike White did what he did in the last 3 games is that the Jets have been providing him with a *lot* of targets in the pattern and he has been exceptionally good at identifying the guy the defense is playing off of and getting him the ball in a hurry.

This BTW is a classic rhythmic distributor characteristic. They get back in the pocket and they let the ball go almost instantly once they are set.

I have some doubts at this point about White's durability and some doubts for next weekend specifically because the Bills have been so dominant on defense this season. I have no doubts about his skill level at all. He's clearly going to be able to move the chains if he stays healthy, albeit maybe not at a star level against the Bill's defense.
