    Just curious.

Why was Revis backing off from the LoS ALL FUCKING GAME? He made Stevie Johnson look like some HoF quality WR, which he is not. (He is slightly above "scrub" in my book.)

I'm guessing Revis was respecting his speed and avoiding getting burned. Revis clearly challenges guys most of the time with bump-and-run coverage. When he's off the line of scrimmage it likely is for physical reasons. Either he thinks the guy will shrug off bump-and-run, like Brandon Marshall will, or a worry about speed and quickness.

That explanation does not account for the red zone situation, where there is not enough green grass out there to be burned. If the QB can hold on to the ball in the pocket sitting comfortably for good 10 seconds, no coverage will succeed anyway. On Johnson TD, Revis is seen backing off at the snap - which gives Johnson huge cushion to make a move and cut inside.

If I remember correctly, the premise behind the bump-and-run coverage is that, by forcing the WR to re-route, the defense will give more time to the pass rush. If this is the admission that the current pass rush can't get to Fitzpatrick while Revis keeps Johnson contained, then I am deeply concerned about this defense.

good win, all wins are, but we gotta stop turning the ball over, and tighten up our defense.

Moving on to the Redskins, living down here, I have watched a lot of their games. They are a terrible team. They beat the Seahawks today to end a 6 game losing streak. Rex Grossman at QB, nobody at RB, Bad O-line, Gaffney has played pretty well, Santana Moss is still good but nursing a broken hand, Fred Davis is a good TE the Jets have to watch out for. As for their defense: its okay. Good Pass rush with Orakpo. London Fletcher is a still a good MLB and their secondary is average at best. Play mistake free ball and the Jets should win with ease. Unfortunately, the Jets haven't played mistake free in awhile.

New York Jets - one of the few teams that can make a win feel like a loss

Oh how true. Ten days to prepare, and this is the result? Awesome.

we should be happy about the ugly win and take it everyday of the week, not that it makes me confident about next week.

also we need to be grateful that we recovered that awful kickoff by the bills, the kid did a good job in recovering the ball after hitting him when he was surrounded by 5-6 bills

You gotta love people who want to talk about one drive and ignore the crappy play of the Qb for most of the game, not to mention ignoring the circus catch that kept the drive alive.

    Team is doomed with Sanchez

This team is seriously flawed. I don't give a shit what Rex says that defense needs work. The OC abandonded the run when it was working in favor of letting a QB (who barely completes 1/2 of his passes) start slinging the ball. There was no reason to pass 35 times. Despite throwing 4Td's Sanchez still managed to only have a QB rating of 90.2 WTF!@#$%$%^??? Even though the offensive line protected better do you trust them against say the Ravens or Steelers? Hell they can't even protect against the Pats and their shitty D. Schotty needs to go even though he's gonn agt paid through 2013. Can anyone tell me what has happened to Special Teams? That used to be a strong spot but Westhoff has lost something cause this group seems to make a huge error every week. Our best hope as Jets fans would be for the Colts to draft Luck and then trade Peyton to the Jets. I truly believe that is our only chance for a championship in th near future.

This was a much needed win but this doesn't give me confidence going forward. Hopefully as December rolls around the jets "turn it on" and play lights out football.

I'm still amazed how we managed to win with two big turnovers giving 14 points to the bills

These are the best types of win, almost died in the last 15 seconds sure, but it was exciting as hell

Man, I hate games like this... there we were on the brink of losing, and I'm just rubbing my hands together thinking of all the vitriol I could spread via the message board. Then out of nowhere, this come back kid Sanchez that never gives up, and never surrenders, makes a minute long drive to the end zone saving this team and once again - finding a way not to lose (which just happens to be like finding a way to win). Now of course I can bitch about this game all day long, but its going to gnaw at my belly knowing that we up and won it anyway. Curse you Sanchez... curse you Jets!! How dare you "find a way not to lose"!!!

My thoughts on yet another heart attack inducing game.

Most of the team played poorly. Cromartie had big mistakes that cost us. Revis was playing like an "average CB". The defensive calls were allowing us to get beat 9 yards at a time.

Our offensive line showed up though. Someone must have read the riot act because they were making big holes, our running game was really taking off. But there's no sense in letting success breed more success because then Schotty (in his infinite wisdom) decided to start throwing the ball more.

His call for a pass on 3rd and 1 at the goal line has to go down as one of the most bone headed plays he has called all season.

Plax came out huge. Sanchez threw 4 TDs despite having under 50% completed pass. Speaking of, those routes were garbage. Running in a straight line and not looking back is not a route.

The team needs to play better as a cohesive unit and not allow fumbles, pick 6s and mistakes on special teams to cost us games. If we continue to play like we've been playing we're not going to win against the Redskins or Giants.
