no no no no no .... If you jump the snap count correctly, and are about to sack Tom Brady before he can hit the top of his drop, Tom gets to replay the down.
Just an FYI, Pats fans seem to think this guy is going to screw them too. Stop being bitches about who the ref is.
As long as they call it even and let the teams play football - great. Needless to say neither of the past 2 games came down to the refs.
I was kinda hoping that we would get the same officiating crew as last week. Thought they did a wonderful job.
I never care about the refs. Hopefully both sides play a clean game. Last week against the colts was great.
They didn't let the new touchy bullshit rules ruin a good game. Both teams were allowed to be physical in the passing game defensively. I loved it.
A bit contradictory? Those two sentences were the pure definition of contradiction and I don't know what the OP was trying to say reading those couple of lines. He calls tons of holding and false starts, but he barely throws a flag.
I think I read something about the NFL tipping the refs for this game to call it tight and accept no bullshit because of all the trashtalking going on. I am expecting to see more penalties than we're used to for both teams. They also issued a warning that because of a certain threat past fines/calls will have an influence on this game. Wonder if that means they would be as severe as ejecting/fining players for a shoving match or what. Not sure i've ever heard them talk about a game this way, I don't see too many fights breaking out, this isn't the Steelers/Ravens.
I don't see how refs, or any kind of pro official does it. Think about it-- one bad call and a whole legion of people are suddenly your worst enemy. Think back to that nearly perfect game this past baseball season. Plus, what do these guys do in the off-season? Sip a caramel macchiattio all day?
I don't see why we can't discuss the referee crew without it being "making excuses" or whatever. It's an element of the game. Remember week one when we had the crew notorious for throwing a lot of DPI flags? Rex should have known that shit and prepared them for it. The refs are just another factor, like the wind, precipitation, ... Like I said, this guys crew is up there for DPI calls, 3rd most in the league. Well if Brady and his team stay true to dink and dunk it can't really hurt us..... besides the auto first down... I want Al Riveron
I want this guy!
I think this ref group is the best of the bunch that are doing the games this week, I think they have a tendency to let the players play. But of course this is a playoff game with two massive rivals, bordering on pure hatred for each other so their radar will be up more for this game. Have fun Jets fans, I will do the same up here in NH, gonna be an exciting day to say the least.
Not to let facts get in the way, but from 2004 thru 2008 5 seasons worth of stats.Brady only tied for the league lead once in RTP called to his benefit. In 2006 he and Mike Vick benefited 7 times. The other 4 seasons he wasn't in the top 10. Don't know about 09 and 10.
