Yeah, I don't really see Belichek jiving with JJ always getting involved.... but maybe wants to one-up Big Bill and win a ring, and I can see him liking the idea of having Micha Parsons to toy with...
Meeting with the Falcons for a 2nd time. Ian Rapoport on X: "Sources: Former #Patriots coach Bill Belichick will have a second interview with the #Falcons brass this weekend after meeting with owner Arthur Blank 1-on-1 this past week. Things are ramping up with the greatest coach of all time… https://t.co/UR8LnJcYSS" / X (twitter.com)
Unless Minny is really willing to let Cousins walk, at which point i think the falcons would basically cut him a blank check to make it happen, I'm not liking that Atlanta fit for Bill. People keep overvaluing the hype pieces they have in place on the offensive side as if they've actually looked spectacular since reaching the NFL level. They haven't, and that hasn't been all because of QB play. Assume you don't/can't get Cousins and have to settle on say Russ since nobody will be selling one of the top 3 QB options in the draft this year. Is that good enough when you circle back around to the fact Bill is already offensively challenged as is? Is Josh gonna come in as OC and make an aging Russell Wilson work when he couldn't even make Jimmy G work in Vegas? Meh
Well for one, Russell Wilson is and always has been significantly better than Garoppolo so I don’t really get that comparison. Secondly, Pitts broke the rookie record for tightend receiving yards when he had a real QB. They have two top 15 running backs if they were on different teams, a good offensive line and a top ten defense. London is the only real wild card as to how good he is but he’s 6’5”, runs like a gazelle and was a really good college player with a lot of experience. Atlanta’s problem is the QB really and that’s all.
Agreed - they have talent all over the field except the one place you really need it - if they could get a decent QB they'd be a good team so the perfect place for BB to go to in order to regain his legendary coach status.
I love the Falcons gave Belichick a 2nd interview. You don’t know who the guy is lol. Are they gonna call his references next?
No. They were probably trying to make sure he wasn’t going to have any walk of shames with ratchet Atlanta ho’s. That snotty Rhode Island bitch did him dirty enough.
I mentioned it in another thread, but rumors here in LA and Las Vegas are swirling that if Buffalo lays an egg bad this week end against KC, the HC is gone and replaced by BB. It would be so poignant to have him with a ready made team to torture his prior employer and of course his arch enemy, the NY Jets. Go Buffalo….
I was worried about that earlier in the year but I think McDermott saved his job regardless of the outcome today
Maybe someone will ask Belichick about Sharon Shenocca, cash through the mail with the Patriots logo on the envelope, and a brownstone he bought her in Brooklyn. Now that's what I call cheating!
Oh, man, I wish that old New York Post cover still existed, it was fabulous. "Belichick's Chick Sacked", it was something like that, haha. The arrogance of mailing cash to his side moll to her house in a Cheats envelope - not to the brownstone he bought her in Park Slope - just speaks to his fckd up personality. They'll never know it was me! That's like one of those trashy true crime shows, 'Buried in the Backyard'. You'd think it's always a case of how dumb do you have to be, but most times it's just pure narcissism. "I'm too great for them to even consider me as a suspect. Besides, I'm too busy to come down for questioning because right now I'm booking my flight to the Bahamas with my murdered wife's life insurance pay out. Let the cops bother someone else. I have things to do."
I was watching via espn+ and loved their telecast--he was great. I thought he criticized every QB in a reasonable manner showing evidence for his perspective--the one guy he seemed to have nothing but positives for was Nabers. BB was getting the well deserved star treatment--it was great
If Belichick has one flaw, it's that things are often personal with him. I'm curious how much he would've praised Nabers if someone other than the Giants drafted him.
Interesting take--i dont think you watched it tho--he had film lined up on a lot of the picks--pos and neg--he just didn't have any negative of note for Nabers. He didn't hold back neg film imo.
Heh. I didn't see that, but I'm not surprised. I'm guessing there was a 90% chance if Belichick were running the Patriots' draft, they'd have traded down. Probably more than once. Always seemed like he ran the draft like he had super top secret intelligence on lower-rated players that everyone else was overlooking when, more often, really good players he passed by were actually just really good.
