Please, don't waste a second thinking about it. I'm too old to let stuff like this bother me.

    A couple of thoughts:

    1. With all the Belichick stories swirling for weeks, this whole thing seems anti-climactic.

    2. Things could get interesting later today when Belichick and Kraft have their press conference.

Will Belichick just grunt, mumble and give non-responsive answers as he normally does in his weekly press conferences, or does he actually have it in him to be gracious?

Will he go rogue? That could be entertaining.

In 1960, the Yankees let manager Casey Stengel go after success similar to Belichick's. At the press conference, the team's story was that Stengel was retiring, but Stengel went way off script. He accused the team of firing him because of his age ("I'll never make the mistake of being 70 again"), and it became a media firestorm.

UPDATE: Belichick took the gracious route.

    3. Despite the on-air personalities kissing Belichick's ass, the print coverage has been pretty balanced. It notes his horrible record without Brady and highlights the poor drafts and free-agent signings. It suggests the game has passed him by, that he's still trying to win with defense in a pass-happy, high-scoring league.

It also emphasizes some of his incomprehensible decisions. Who in his right mind makes Matt Patricia an OC? Memo to file: Matt Patricia is NEVER the answer.

    4. I have the feeling that there is some dumb owner out there who is going to bring Belichick in as the savior. I can't see that ending well.

Lets talk about this: You don't think he could make an impact with the Chargers or the Seahawks? Those teams have some good talent, at least a LOT more than the Pats have right now.

I think the Chargers job is a shit show. They are so f'ed with the cap. Their top 5 highest players take up 60% of their cap for 2024. Allen is another year older and needs to be cut or restructured, they have to cut Bosa, restructure Mack or cut him, Derwin James and Mike Williams are doing them no favor.

    But.. you have Herbert o_O

If I were Belichick, I'd be trying to steal that Eagles job from Sirianni.

But I'd also be punching myself in the balls pretty much all day long.

I’m actually kind of mad about it. We’ve been abused by him/them for years and we’ve barely got any hits back.

I been really bitter since sunday that we won that last game of the season and likely screwed ourselves out of one of the top 2 tackles in the draft.

But ya know, seeing this actually come to pass and without allowing him to ride off into Patriots lore with his streak against us intact.....i feel a lot better about getting that W today.

Hats off to the GOAT and his 20+ years of dominance. You had the best coaching run ever. Now enjoy *not* winning your next job of choice this winter when teams like the Chargers want a guy like Ben Johnson a lot more then they want a has been.

Page 2 and no one has said what needs to be said?

May he never know a moment’s rest. May he suck 1000 cocks a day and choke on each and every one.

Fuck him, fuck the Pats, fuck Boston. Good riddance.

He'll go to a team with a solid QB in place. That rules out The Commanders, Titans, Raiders, Falcons.....so the Chargers may be the one.

I'm glad losing to a bad Jets team at home was the final booger in his martini.
