I like this re-signing, Mac showing that retaining his own players is a high priority. Powell is a good pass blocker who doesn't have a lot of mileage on him compared to the other backs in FA. We all just need to take a deep breath, count to 10, and reset ourselves. The world isn't over because we missed out on some top FA. Mac can't force players to come here. Props to him for staying disciplined and not overpaying even more.
Woodhead can be really effective in the right system but he's nowhere near as versatile as Powell as an actual RB. We can only hope that we have a system and not some dumb headbutting BS that we always had under Rex And speaking of Rex, I can't wait for the Bills fans to realize that he isn't hands off on the offense like he pretends to be
a one year huh? yeah we're still in play for a RB from just about everywhere. but now we have a very capable if average backup option ready for whatever comes next. like the move regardless of cost.
Unbelievable, just unbelievable. Some people here are thrilled with Bilal Powell and would rather have him than this guy
Wow... You are really panicked ... Kareem Jackson resigned. Maxwell not on the jets radar at all Franklin and iupati- tried didn't work Macklin no inters in. I see your doom and gloom and wanting the jets to build some all madden team.. I guess there nothng to say and since that's the case, your gonna be disappointed no matter what.. Hang in there, it's gonna get worse for you. Lol
Fuck yeah I'm excited to have my boy back in Jets green. Powell is a player that you should keep around and figure a way to get the most out of him.
Who's to say he'd want to come here and play part time back with Chris Ivory? If there wasn't mutual interest why would he come here. If there is one player I would have wanted instead it would have been Shane Vereen.
Yeah, I'm as big a Jet homer as they come and while Powell is just an okay player--Spiller if healthy is actually a weapon. _
Spiller is far more talented and explosive than Powell. Powell is a good player but there's really nothing special about him. I don't mind the signing but I'm not going to get all excited about it either. He's not a bad guy to have on your team. Would still love to land Spiller.
I also think with the Eagles losing out on Gore that created a market for Spiller in Philly. Not sure I would pay up for Spiller as the Eagles have been throwing money around.
Powell does a lot of things very well. He's a great smooth runner in between the tackles, picks up blitzers very well and catches the ball out of the backfield as well as anyone else in the league. He's not a guy that will take it to the house at any time - which is something we are lacking - but he is a very serviceable player. A good re-signing.
Do you know what draft pick the Cowboys spent on Demarco Murray during a good draft year for RBs? I ask you this because you come off as a good member of the forum
