Hot sauce, man. You need to brush up on your terminology.

Mr. T. has done an excellent job. They need to give him another contract extension.

All I said was that Tannenbaum had a great week. Also, they didn't just beat a weaker team: they played extremely well.

well said! it was pretty obvious. although those who wish to cling to all and any positive just for the sake of wanting the team to be great will cling to anything.

realistically this team is short on talent. it just is what it is.

There could be a lot of people puking after Sunday. Really surprising that anybody would think beating Indy is deserving of threads like these. And we are only playing another 3-3 team this week so we will see if this was premature or not.

The defense is in a period of transition. They are slowly turning it over from the old big slow defense to a younger, smaller, faster defense. Right now they are stuck in between the young guys developing and the old guys basically being a step slow.

Some weeks they will find a good mix, but against some opponents they just won't have be effective.

I think most people can see the defense is going to be built around Mowilk, Coples, Kenrick, Harris (hopefully he gets some speed back?), Davis, Cromartie, Revis and ideally Bush/Allen.

Unfortunately, right now we are still suck with Pace, Scott, Harris and Thomas who can't cover, rush the QB and are becoming a weakness against the run.

Harris is a very good player, and if he had lateral agility would be an elite MLB. His straight line speed is pretty good, and his play recognition is pretty good.

Sanchez deserves no credit. He was given plenty of time all day, and didn't throw a pass over 15 yards.

Howard could very well be a pro bowl contender. Especially with the recognition he has received from the Jets circus.

People can be dumb at times. Isn't Special Teams part of the game? They played damn good considering no Holmes,Hill,Keller,Revis.

I didn't quote you, so my response wasn't to you.

BTW, GMs don't have good or bad weeks during the season the players and coaches do. Tanny only has good or bad weeks when he is drafting or making moves to build the team.

With a season ending injury or two every week Tanny has had to have good week to fill out a 45 man game day roster lol.

I don't disagree that they played well against the Texans despite the loss of key players. I just don't agree that they played well enough to be really competitive in that game, mainly because they didn't have the talent to do so.

The Jets right now are a mediocre .500 team based on the talent. When they play good teams they're probably going to have about a 20% chance to win, which will require all the breaks going their way.

We're going to see another example of this in New England on Sunday. It's not that the Jets don't want to win that game, it's just that the talent on the team makes it highly unlikely.

Like the Texans game I'd see a non-blowout as a positive sign for the rest of the season and a blowout loss as not all that indicative of a Jets collapse later on. The Jets are going to win their games this year against bad teams. They're going to win some more against other mediocre teams and lose a few also.

Bradway, in what areas do you see the Jets possessing a significant lack of talent as you claim?

The Jets are lacking talent at WR, RB and LB. They have consistency problems due to performance or injury at QB, TE and on the DL. The only units on the Jets that are solid right now are the defensive backfield and the special teams.

That's plain BS. Till this day, Dolphins fans use the Ted Ginn game as a punch line. Can I go tell them that his 2 kickoff return TDs don't count? And the two jinxes comment is beyond absurd!

Jets did compete. They were without their best player on defense AND offense, yet they were a "couple of imcompletions" away from winning it.

Jets are weak at stopping the run this year. That's one of the reason Texans held the ball longer. And really, are u going to argue about 80 extra yards? Can we include return yardage to make a case then? Because that's one drive Jets offense didn't get to play. Also, Texans were a bit lucky too with the tipped passes for int. Argument works both ways.

    @Jets n Boys

All you had to do in the post above was say "the Jets are weak at stopping the run this year." That made all the points I had made earlier about the Jets being competitive with good teams in one simple sentence.

The Jets lack experience at WR, not talent. The RB unit isn't all that bad, it's just misused (Powell should be the feature back and Greene primarily used as a second-half bruiser type). I mostly agree with you on the LB corps, although again, Harris is one of the more solid LBs in the league and Demario Davis is a very talented rookie.

The other areas I'm with you on, all the way.

It makes you a loser most of the time. Find the teams giving up 150+ yards a game on the ground and winning through that.

    I'll save you the time.

One team in the last decade has given up 150+ yards a game and made the playoffs: the 2006 Indianapolis Colts.

Guess why they won through that terrible run D?

Even more evidence would be the average W-L of the teams giving up more than 150 yards a game on the ground. I'll let you go look that one up. It's easy to do on ESPN.
