That's not the point at all. The point is that we don't know how good either QB is and you took what Jaws said completely out of context and now you're all acting like Jaws is an idiot, when what he said about Sanchez is actually right on the money.

He said USC had a great team and because of that Sanchez went largely untested.. but, and I quote, "that doesn't mean he's not going to be a great player in this league and I'm not saying that by any stretch of the imagination."

Actually, I wasn't responding to that quote, I was responding to the idea that his skills wouldn't translate well in the NFL. That's also what he said, right? If so, I am saying that no one - Draft guru, GM, or otherwise - knows who for sure who will succeed in the NFL. Of course there are safer bets than others, but Jaws' opinion shouldn't be taken as gospel.

My bad, I meant to quote 2k09. But no, Jaws said he didn't see enough throws from his time at USC that would project to the NFL because he had so much time to throw and so many talented players. It wasn't a knock on Sanchez.

Are you Jaws' son GBA? Haha. His comments were negative towards Sanchez. Maybe he is right as you say, but he said it in a negative way. He spoke very positive about Clemens and he is crap. That really is the point of the thread. I never said he said Sanchez would suck.

It's like saying Fredie Mercury wasn't really that talented because he played with the Queen and they were all really good... if someone is talented he is no matter what... having talent sorrounding you can only help you get better... not make you worse.

Its true. He never got hit and he never took his team on his back down in the 4th qtr. and won the game. He played on a great team and was never tested. Every clip I saw of him, nobody was near him and guys were wide open. These were my conerns and why I did not want him. We shall see on Monday, I hope the Ravens blitz the livin shit of us, both QB's.

Yea it's over, Anderson and Quinn are proven to be great and Sanchez those four throws told the whole story. Pack it in guys, it is over.

    Go root for the Giants.

you guys are just pissed because somebody rained on your parade, and pissed on your golden boy.

there would be nothing but praise for Jaws if he had said Sanchez was a perrenial pro bowler in the making and a future HOF.

and you know what? his questions are good ones. The guy did have it easy at USC, for gods sake they are considered the 33 best NFL franchise not counting last years lions.
He has elite talent around him, a defense who can cover for his mistakes, and add that to the list with his lack of experience, it should trouble you all.

that said based on what I have seen I think he will be good/great down the line, just not you know opening day....

The "best" man in the world of Jets economics is the guy you are paying 50 million dollars to..same as on every other team...as proof of that why do you think Russell is still the starting QB in Oakland?

I don't remember anyone here calling him the "golden boy" or even a pro bowler.

He's obviously got some points - 16 games at USC. But that doesn't automatically dismiss Sanchez. Nobody knows if he's going to be good or bad. Does he look to have the tools to succeed? I think so, as do many others.

Perhaps Jaws is hedging his bet because he pumped KC up, and now he's in a situation where he may not win out the starting job.

WTF knows. Who cares. it's just another opinion.

The only opinion of Jaws' that has any validity....is his choice of where to purchase a bucket of fried chicken.

everyone got crazy over this statement and i really didnt think it was that big of a deal. hes not wrong in saying that sanchez hasnt been tested. i definitely think he has looked great so far and is outplaying clemens, but its still early and he hasnt seen anything too crazy yet. lets see what happens when the ravens D comes out firing sending guys at him from all angles. lets see how he reacts after a bad game (another big thing that has to happen). im fully in his corner and i want nothing more than for him to be our guy for the next 10+ years, but i also think that realistically there will be growing pains that we are gonna see soon enough. the way he handles them is what will show if he is going to be a success or not

The Ravens won't do much more than a vanilla defense like ever other team does in preseason. They will save their sneaky stuff for games that count.

Jaws is a total jerk off spunion. He puts on his annoying broadcaster voice, his inflection makes me want to strangle him with piano wire. His knowledge means nothing to me, his opinions mean nothing to me.
