Not necessarily..... He had a horrible look on his face. Difficult to explain what I mean...... Separately, I wouldn't go by walking off on his own power. He was amped up for this game, it is amazing what adrenaline can do.
If it is in fact season ending, where do the Jets turn.. maybe bring back Marques Douglas for depth? Can't be too many useful 330 pounders out there, so might as well bring in a guy to provide depth who knows the system, right? Or does Tanny pull a Tanny move and pull off a trade for someone like Haynesworth? haha
As has already been mentioned, looking at that play live and again in slow motion, it would be a miracle if he didn't tear anything in that left knee. We'll see but I'm fully preparing myself for the worst and will be thrilled with anything better than "out for the season"
I hate to think about it, but I think Jenks is done. I remember last year against the Bills, he came off the field on his own power just like here. I remembered that walk and that look of pain on his face, and the thing I dreaded most, an ACL injury happened last year, and this looks like a repeat injury, and probably the end of Jenkins' career. It's pitiful, Jenkins put his body on the line, and he's probably done, and the offense couldn't step up, hell couldn't complete a pass over 10 yards, save Cotchery's 13-yarder. Same goes for the penalties on both sides. As far as I know, the best NT prospect in the draft to replace Jenkins is Jerrell Powe from Ole Miss.
once the Browns are at 0-2 or 0-3 (and believe me they will be) Shaun Rodgers will become available and we should look into trading for him.
for what it's worth, Jenkins was down for much longer against Buffalo. This time they came back from commercial and he was already on his feet
What sucks is after the loss to Indy, my thoughts were "next year we'll have Jenkins and Washington back." So much for that. Terrible. I hope it's just a sprain but I don't think it is. His facial expressions said it all. He doesn't need an MRI to know he tore something.
Same as last year: we can stop the run without him, but we'll need to blitz to get pressure. By the way, this is why we should've drafted a NT last year in a draft chock full of 'em.
Yeah I would love to hear something soon too. Jenkins is one of my favorite players and definitely one of the better personalities on the team.
It's nothing about being able to stop the run. Some of us are actually fans of these players and don't like to see bad things happen to them. If he is done for the season I doubt we will ever see him play again.
This is the time for Sione to prove that he belongs in this league. He did it for 8 games last season. Hopefully he can do it for 16 this season.
you guys need to chill out a bit. it didn't look as bad as last yr. he got up and walked off under his own power. it could be serious, or it might not be as bad as the doom and gloom crowd here thinks.
Umm Pouha CLEARLY has proven he belongs in the league. It's just a matter of if he can be counted on as a starting, every down type NT or not that can make plays.
If you concentrated on the whole post you would know that I meant as a starter. Sorry if no explicitly stating that confused you. At this point, I don't care if Jenkins comes back and wins DPOY. He should retire. After two major injuries in two years, and all the talk of losing weight and changing his diet so he can continue to be active with his family, 15 games isn't worth it. Just take your money and have fun with your family.
per twitter: JasonLaCanfora Kris Jenkins will have his MRI @9am on his injured knee but for now Jets doctors optimistic its not an ACL. Jenkins left game in 1st Qtr
