This is pure comedy, we have a guy that was quoting stats for Pat Ryan from 1987 when 95% of his snaps came in a replacement game.

Cakes: There are some guys where it's just not worth it. I'm guessing he has a fake account and is just messing w/ people b/c there is just no way any intelligent football fan can post some of the nonsense he posts.

I had 50 yard seats for a Bills game that year. O'Brien led the team on a comeback once Browning Nagle got the hook in the second half. Unfortunately Thurman Thomas ran the ball for a 95 yard touchdown to seal the win.

Anyone who was at the game could have told you that O'Brien was the better QB that year.

The follwing week he went 21 of 29 to get us the win against Miami. His reward was to go back to the bench the following week.

Obviously ken was better than Nagle but his career was coming to an end and they wanted to groom a young QB.

We got a PI inside the 5 that set up the TD to take the lead, everyone knew Buf had way too much time to score and that they were winning that game.

If O'Brien is our QB in 1992 we probably win 6 games instead of 4. We had many more problems than just at QB that year.

junc is always wrong, and I mean always. I have him on ignore and will not take him off. People who agree with him about anything are merely undercutting their own standing here, imho.

    "simply to annoy"

Whatever. I was annoyed by the combination of your not taking into account arguments already presented here that countered your arguments on behalf of Chad or supported those on behalf of Kenny. I did not attack you personally.

But... I will not convince you that you started the personal attacks, so we will not resolve that.

The only reason Buffalo came back is that Thurman Thomas was a freak of nature. If you were in that stadium you probably thought the Jets were going to win.

Otherwise I agree 100% with your post.

I was there, I remember it well. There was not a rational person in that Stadium that thought the game was over when we scored. Buf had an amazing offense and had 2 minutes left which was equivalent to a normal O having about 6-7 mins left.

You and I were young, we believed in many things back then but realistically Buffalo had us where they wanted us.

O'Brien actually won the starting job back in November 1992 but hurt his thumb, missed the rest of the season and Nagle came back in. Jeff Blake even got a few snaps by the end of the year, but not enough to clue in the coaching staff that they should have kept him. I think O'Brien got hurt in the KC home game that Dennis Byrd was injured in, his last start and action as a Jet.

I think the bigger problem was Coslet being determined to replace O'Brien and O'Brien held out in camp. That caused Nagle to get the reps and the job during a 5-0 pre-season, then looked great in the opener at Atlanta in a losing effort. If O'Brien showed up to camp and started from the beginning, who knows? I tend to think like junc, probably a little bit better season but not much.

I think both guys could figure it out, O'Brien was very smart and we won 10 games with Vinny in 2001 with Hackett as OC. I just think that offense didn't play to the strength of the QB in each case, a big arm suited for the deep passing game.

O'brien was real thrower, one of the better throwers in his era.

The more it gets proven that O'brien is better, the more votes 3 yard out Pennington gets. Joke.

The question wasn't who was the better thrower. The question was who was the better Quarterback. There IS a difference.

What has been proven? That Kenny could throw a better deep ball? I'm not even sure that is true but he did attempt more deep balls and get his receivers killed including ending the career of Al Toon w/ all those concussions.

If anything has been proven it's that neither was clearly above the other, evidenced by the poll results and the ongoing conversation.

Yeah, be not so sure that Kenny threw a better deeper ball.

    C'mon.

But all those players died after the catch.

Pennington was the master of the deep pass.

If junc is involved, it has life until everyone else gives up. He will add 10,000 posts to his count if he has to.

Are you really going to try to prove that Pennington could throw the deep ball better than O'Brien?

Please tell me you have more self respect than that.
