From that list I would probably say Victor Green, but Adams will surpass him easily if he stays healthy. I also really liked Brian Washington.
It's early but it looks like Jamal Adams could be in the convo for best player in franchise history not just safety when it's all said and done. For now I'll go with Victor Green. And Kerry Rhodes was a lot better than many people give him credit for. I would've liked to have seen him come back after 2009 with the addition of Cro that secondary could've been even more special. *sigh*
You’re right. Hudson was on the SB team for Pete’s sake . I remember Lott’s time with the Jets as not very special at all. Wasn’t he a member of the secondary that allowed Marino’s comeback in the fake spike game? The game that set the franchise back for over 2 years ? I recall him dropping several key INTs during his time here.
Erik McMillan was such a strange case. He came out like gangbusters and I was all, "Ooo! Ooo!" Then he inexplicably took a nose dive and flamed out and I was all, "Aye-yigh-yigh ooof." Seriously, what the frig. Too early for Jamal Adams yet but no doubt I love what I see. Still time to turn into Jamal McMillan. Soooooo, I went with Victor Green. I do believe that's one of Royal's all time favorite Jets.
Victor Green. Kerry Rhodes did have that really good 2 year run where he was one of the best in the league. Jamal Adams 2 more years will be our best safety.
From what I remember, McMillan was too much of a gambler for the coaching staff. He picked off a lot of passes, but often it was because he'd deserted his responsibilities and gone freelance. That led to an equal number of blown assignments. There was also talk that he wasn't a willing tackler. The 1988 draft was a strange one. Four DBs were taken and at one point McMillan, Hasty and Booty all looked pomising, but only Hasty really worked out. The team's second-round pick, Terry Williams, was a complete bust.
