Douglas/Saleh refuse to admit they made a huge error with the #2 overall on Zach. They'll keep playing him. And no matter how much he stinks, Zach will be Rodgers' backup in 2024. Their pride comes before jets victories. They have themselves convinced Zach was a great pick.

You would need to address that question to those who don't want another quarterback brought in because it would cause the quarterback controversy they've been predicting for two years. How deep into the season must we go before declaring Wilson has failed?
If Zach implodes against the Patriots and the Jets don't bring in a QB to take the job from him immediately after that, the locker room will be gone.

Part of what’s maddening is that JD could have signed either of those guys for vet minimum three months ago, and they’d be up to speed and playing already. If you have a 40 year old QB and think your #2 overall pick needs to redshirt and reset after two awful seasons, it’s common sense to have a veteran backup as a buffer. But managing QB depth is not JD’s strong suit…that and offensive lines.
Statistically Zach is down there sandwiched between the likes of Rosen and the Jets-only Geno. Even those QB's who busted out at their original location like Trubisky and Haskins were producing on the field at a higher level. I do sometimes wonder if Zach is what would of happened if we had the balls or need to put Hackenberg into a game?
