Yep - all of the times the Jets have been good in the last 50 years. 82-86, 98, 2009-11 They have had real good lines
It’s won in the trenches. Brady was Brady a lot because of his oline. Always had a great one. Our best teams with Vinny, chad and even Sanchez always had a good line.
No QB would have won that game for the Jets today. Getting the Oline figured out is a much bigger problem than QB right now.
This OLine is just dog shit. If Rodgers weren't out for the season last week, he would be today. This faith by JD in 38 year old Duane Brown, who played like garbage last year, is unbelievable. I get it, he played through the injury last year. But he is also old and washed up. After his major contribution to Rodgers injury last time he followed it up with even more atrocious performance tonight. It's time to bench Duane, move Becton to LT, and put AVT at RT. Where he will probably get hurt again like last time with his short arms, but what do you do? Get Connor Galvin from Detroit PS? Give Billy Turner a shot? Duane just can't play LT any longer. Now, this is not to excuse Zach. He did stink in the second half. But having shitty OLine will destroy any QB, even the new guy we will surely bring in within a week or two. JD just fucked the entire season, his own hard and otherwise good work, by not being able to build an average oline. I just don't get it. It's only been two weeks, but it's the same story with this shit of an Oline time and time again.
Improvement. People keep drinking the Kool aid. If you bring someone in they won't be ready in time. The window was last week to find someone
There is no QB who could play better behind this OL. In fact, Zach did pretty well given the circumstances until the end when Dallas knew he had to throw. Why didn't Hackett have a run heavy and TE heavy scheme going? And why didn't he dial up some more passing plays early for Zach when Dallas wouldn't have been expecting it? As for "losing the locker room" if they stick with him, that's nuts. The players know that Zach didn't cost them the game today. This is just wishful thinking by fans who are just looking for any reason to have the Jets be done with him.
are you kidding me. Wilson completed 8 passes until the Cowboys called off the dawgs. I can list 30 QBs that wouldve played better
Zach wilson has now stunk with 2 offensive coordninators, Hackett had no problem scheming around Rodgers, Mlf has no problem with Mathew Stafford, keep making excuses for this kid maybe the 12 offensive coordniator we hire will finally get Zach playing like a NFL Qb?
Zach wasn't the biggest problem today. I thought he had a nice 1st half. Good composure, accurate, knew when to run, made some nice throws. Throw in bad gameplanning and bad OL play along with facing the games best pass rusher and a top defense and I can't be mad at him. Definite progress from last year. Granted the bar is beyond low, but still. As bad as he's been, the Pats have been his krypotnite. So next week will be huge. But they need a lot of Breece Hall and better OL play
Thinking logically (and based on historical Jets fandom knowledge), the Jets will trot Wilson out there for the next few weeks. He will be a mixed bag, with subpar games. Jets will win 1 for every 2 they lose. The season will start to look in doubt, which is when Boyle will get a start or two, before going back to Wilson. Around week 10, they "realize" they have a problem... something all us fans know we have now.
Tick tock tick tock tick tock… Wonder which will happen first, losing the locker room (already starting) or finally making a move for another QB option.
If you think his confidence is shot after today, wait till his buddy Bellichek destroys him next week, history always repeats itself.
I’ll go with the first one because we have Belichick and the Chiefs coming up. They will embarrass the Jets and Wilson and the locker room will be off the rails at 1-3
