I disagree completely. Locker makes a lot of sense to me. He was considered to be the second best QB and I personally think he will develop into the best QB out of this draft.

There were so many actual experts, the scouts, who were raving with excitement about Locker. A lot of Favre comparisons, and that's not a bad thing.

Ponder? Nobody is excited about this kid, except for the Vikings.

    IMO

So your opinion is based entirely on collecting opinions? That and a quarter will get you a pack of gum. Doug Farrar of Football Outsiders came away very impressed with him after Senior Bowl, Combine, Pro Day. The numbers are very solid.

Scouts RAVED about Joey Harrington. Peter King said Chris Redman would be a better pro than Chad Pennington. People shrugged off Akili Smith's Wonderlic.

You can teach quarterbacks a lot of things, but accuracy isn't one of them. It's either innate, or it has to become innate. I think Locker will become the Jeff Francoeur of the NFL. Well liked, No one will doubt his effort or his raw tools, but he'll never really put it together.

In 5 years, the best pick will be the trade up for Julio Jones. I have a feeling he will have a huge career and contribute to the Falcons contention for years to come, and the legacy of Matt Ryan.

The worst pick in 5 years will probably be Jake Locker at 8. So many questions marks on this guy, and the worst of it is that they could have traded back significantly to acquire more picks, but they didn't. I actually liked Ponder at 12 just because I think he can be a great QB in a system like the Vikings. He should be a Pro-Bowl caliber QB in a few years now that they got rid of that retard Childress.

Is that taking into account the fact that they are switching systems this year? I am not trying to be a smartarse, I actually dont know.

Yeah. If they weren't switching systems, he'd be a solid pick for them. Either way, DT was a need.

I don't know about this. If they had gone up for Green, I'd be more in favor of it. They could have stayed put, or just moved up a bit, and taken the defensive help they needed. It's a lot to bank on free agency with this uncertainty.

Plus, with the Saits improving so much last night, Atlanta may not win that division next season. They may have given up more than they think right now. Obviously they're a playoff team, but they have serious defensive problems to think they were one player away.

Maybe, maybe not. But as Jet fans, I think we all know that it's not winning the division that matters, it's what you do in the playoffs.

He'll have to be a fucking legend. The Falcons have equated his value to five players, including two first-rounders. I'm not convinced any player in the draft is worth a Ditka.

Agreed, especially a receiver. It took the Saints years to recover from the Williams draft.

I don't hate the ponder pick at all. A young QB in a west coast passing offense with a nasty power running game? Itsa very nice fit for his skill set and level of readiness comeing out of FSU. He'll be able to come along much like Mark has for us, handing off the ball more than passing it, by a lot, in his first year.

Best so far, out side of being a complete Jets homer, Jimmy Smith to the Ravens. If any locker room can make his issue go away its that one, and the kid is a hell of a physical talent. Perfect fit for thim.

Worst? I hate describing a pick as worst before a single meeting let alone any game is played. Right now I think the worst decision was a lack of a pick in the Pats not grabing one of the big 34 DE prospect to bolster thier young defense. At some point taking 10 good prospects does not out weigh take 3 great ones. They could have walked away from this draft with thier choice of Cam Jordan, Wilkerson, or Heyward, as well as adding Ayers, Reed, Houston, or another outide rushing prospect Making them just damn Scary for years to come.

2 firsts and a 2, plus two mid round picks. Lets face it, mid round picks miss more often than hit. Yes the gambled, but They are getting a hell of a talent at the cost of some much later first and a late second ansd two maybes. For a team that is as close as they are to fill a need with a great prospect like jones was a coup. An already scary offense jsut got dynamic. They set the SB in thier sights and went for it.

Yup, they switched to a 4/3, and he is built to be a 3/4 NT. IgnatiusJReilly hit the nail on the head, and Kiper and Gruden said it a few times last night.
