^ rookie QB, bad special teams. This #1 defense didn't show up against Miami on MNF. That's why.

They may be #1 now, but they've played against bad teams and made them look worse.

We'll see how good this team is come the last week of the season. Right now, just keep winning. Matt Ryan might be out for one more game - go kill Chris Redman.

Except Schotty, he can go ahead and pursue that HC position he sooooooooooo rightly deserves.

    good

now francesa can no longer use that as an excuse. not only do the jets lead the league in PPG but they've also allowed at least 7, maybe more TD's when the defense wasn't on the field.

    So #1 in total defense
    # 1 in PPG
    #1 in rushing
    =

    No playoff appearance...Ahhhhh

That was the word on the street this week in Atlanta...Its looking more and more like the wild cards are going to the NFC North and East, and they were saying that the Falcons might just shut down Ryan if there are no playoffs to realistically play for....here's hoping they're reading the tea leaves like we are

yeah the falcons are clearly not making the playoffs...doesn't matter though, we can beat them even with ryan the way our d is playing.

I'm more interested in Michael Turner's status for next week. I think we'd do a pretty good job against their passing game even with Ryan.

Ah, but this thread was about our pass D. Nevermind, carry on. :)

As long as we strengthen the trenches first.

Even if we don't make the playoffs, our team looks just a few players away from being really scary.

I think we have the players, just some growing pains and inexperience has held us back.

that kind of talk shouldnt be allowed badge!

Injuries derailed us in both years. If anything we are doing this with some of our best players on IR for more than half the season. While no one can argue Revis isn't the best player on the defense, the day before Jenkins got hurt everyone argued he was the most important and irreplaceable.

I would argue its the same today. Pouha and Devito have been good run stuffers, but they don't collapse the pocket like big Jenks and it just makes it that much easier to get after the QB.

Next April the thing we need the most and it isn't even close is someone on the DL, preferably a nasty DE in the first with a NT like Boo Robinson later on. It is sort of a shame that Suh has been so unbelievably nasty of late. It would have been great for us if his second half of the season he tailed off a bit, causing him to possibly slide to us.

Cut him a break - he's from Italy and they don't use the same slang we use here.

As much as I would like to see us pick up a top notch pass rusher, I still think we need the depth at O & D Lines. I am hoping the FO trades the 1st pick for additional picks and gets some depth.

This is what happens when you've got Dennis Thurman, and Doug Plank running your Defensive Backs. Two of the top five Defensive Backs to ever play the game.
