    I meant rd 1.

We gave up a premiere pass rusher to get the C, either way we were giving something up whether it would have been draft picks or a proven player like Abe. This regime gets the guys they really want and if they really wanted Mangold they would have found a way whether they traded Abe or not.

I understand but who on that 2005 roster has more value then a elite pass rusher? No one. We got a 1st rd pick for Abe, no one else was worth a 1st from that team. I agree if we wanted him that bad of course we have the pieces to move in the 1st. If we would of moved draft picks we would have no Darrelle Revis. Also I do not see the Jets valuing a center over a QB in that draft. We had 2 1st rd picks so we had the luxury of getting 2 elite offensive lineman knowing there would be some value in the 2nd rd(Clemens...sigh). Plus we moved up to get Clemens its not like he fell to us.

I think giving up Abe for Mangold was the best move for the team to make at the time knowing what we know now. I wouldn't dare give up Revis for Mangold. Mangold is the best center in the NFL but Revis is the best CB in the NFL so CB>Center.

Saying the Jets have 2 of the best players at their positions feels good :jets:

Did you just change your username?

They would have found a way, probably w/ picks. They have shown they are willing to trade draft picks to get the guys they want.

What QB would they have traded up for at the end of the 1st rd? you think they would have valued Clemens over mangold?

Regardless of the situation I'm glad we have Mangold and brick on that OL.

No why you could change usernames? I have been wanting to change usernames since I hate Abe now and despise typing John and 92 to log in lol.

W/ picks mean no Revis. Of course Mangold is rated higher then Clemens but QB over center. Remember we tried to move up to get Jay Cutler. If we don't have another 1st rd pick maybe we put more pressure on ourselves to get that QB need taken care of?

But I agree I love D'Brick and Mangold to anchor our line for 10+ years. As usual, Tanny did what was best for the Jets. Since he has been running the show we usually come out on top of every deal.
