All I know is that right now Darrelle Revis and Antonio Cromartie are better than Sean Smith and Vontae Davis. You can have your future shutdown corners but we can have the division.

Boy if I had a nickle for every time I heard one of the local south Florida Jets fans say this... How many divisions have you guys won? I think just 2 is it? True, that's fair. The Dolphins have an extremely young team, and especially on defensive side of the ball. I think they're like the 6th youngest team in the NFL if I'm not mistaken. They make a lot of mistakes. And CB is a tough position to come in as a rookie IMO. The Dolphins youngsters still have a lot of proving and getting better to do before they can be mentioned on the same level as Revis, if ever.. Cro though, that's my boy, but I;m not so sure about him post hip injury.

The Bengals are arguably in the top 2, well except for retarded Fin homers that would put Davis and Smith based on "potential".
While I do not think the dolphin corners are the best in the NFL (or even top5... yet), they have a lot of potential and looked very good last season. Stats on plays against the corners are somewhat misleading due to the defensive scheme they were in. Our now fired Defensive Coordinator had them frequently in 1 on 1 coverage with no safety help so of course their stats against are going to be inflated. Moreover, the Dolphins basically started 2 strong safeties with mediocre coverage abilities. Couple that with poor coverage from the LB unit and the entire middle of the Dolphins defense was very vulnerable against the pass. Stats can be twisted and turned to fit whatever argument you want to make. In the end, you can see talent, and those 2 CB's have talent. Miami's CB position is solid and will only get stronger for years to come. I don't think the guy was mentioning Miami has the best CB's right now, simply giving them a shout out. edit: To summarize, Miami's CB's have great potential, and will be very good for years to come... regardless of what some tainted stats show. Anyone who saw them play can see that. Darrel Revis, on the other hand, is the best CB in the NF right nowL and Cro has had a very inconsistent career. Who is the better tandem? I don't know/care but that article really got blown out of proportion. Then again, what use is a message board if we can't have some discussion.
