35-7 or so, and it could be a lot more if the NFL team decided to keep piling on points. The NFL teams would be dominant on both lines, and the college team would throw pick after pick against the confusing NFL defenses.
The worst pro team would win by at least 45 points. The average NFL backup is definitely better then the average starting college player.
A full strength college sports team would never beat a full strength pro sports team...period. Gotta think of how many pro players there are and how many college players there are.
I doubt that 09 alabama team would be the Rams But a college team i think that could have beat a bad NFL team was the 01 Miami Hurricanes That team had Andre Johnson, Clinton Portis, Willis McGahee, Frank Gore, Jeremy Shockey, Jonathan Vilma, Sean Taylor, Ed Reed, Antrell Rolle, DJ Williams, Vince Wilfork That's just the guys i can remember. there are probably a few more guys that i can't think of at the moment
I'm sure the 2001 Hurricanes would've destroyed the Lions or Panthers of that year. Ed Reed Frank Gore Clinton Portis Andre Johnson Jeremy Shockey Jonathan Vilma Bryant McKinnie to name a few NFL stars from that team...
Yeah, if I had to pick a team to beat a pro team it would probably be them...considering all the 1st round talent on that team.
You can list players like crazy from that 01 Hurricanes team, but think of how many of those guys were significant contributors that year. A good portion of the guys that pop out when you look at the roster were marginal guys that season. K2 was still a receiver, Sean Taylor was a freshman backup safety, Willis was officially the backup fullback, and Antrel Rolle, Vince Wilfork, and Frank Gore were all rotation players. Plus, they had Dorsey at QB, who never did anything against pro defenses. They'd stomp just about any other college team put together, but not the professionals.
It could be done if you took the college aged version of the best Miami Hurricane players since the 1980's. Kosar McKinnie OT Vernon Carey OT Chris Meyers C Orlando Franklin G Brett Romberg G James Gore McGahee Portis Najeh Davenport Irvin Andre Johnson Reggie Wayne Santana Moss Shockey Winslow Olsen Jerome Brown Russel Maryland Vince Wilfork Warren Sapp (yes, a DL of these DTs hahaha) Ray Lewis Jessie Armstead pre-injury Vilma Sean Taylor Ed Reed Phil Buchanon Antrel Rolle (he played CB in college, dominated Larry Fitz 1 on 1) All of those guys, say as juniors in college, could beat the 2008 Rams I'm sure.
0 fer EVERY COLLEGE TEAM No college team could beat a pro team. Even the best college teams have only a handful of draft pics every year. Pro teams are made up of the BEST college players. They're ALL bigger, stronger, and faster. Think about how many rookies do even decently in the NFL. Not that many. Even though a bad pro team seems bad, it's all relative.
Piling on, but yeah. The worst pro players were still among the very best college players. And they have the benefit of having matured physically and having trained at the very highest level.
Same way I feel, but I'd also add that it would have be an especially bad NFL team. Most years, there just isn't a team that's quite bad enough.
