You are what y0ur record says you are. The Jets are a 1-6 disgrace. They better go 1-15 so they can start fresh because this team and coaching staff needs new direction ASAP. If they go 5-11 they are only hurting the team's future and the rebuild which needs to begin now. The only party that is best served by going 5-11 is Rex Ryan for his own personal job security. Yet Rex's interests are in direct contrast to the franchise's interests.

At 1-6, we are more than a "few pieces" away. Teams that lose the conference championship games are a few pieces away. Why are we, as fans, trying to spin this season into a positive to make ourselves feel better? BE THE SUCK. EMBRACE THE SUCK. good teams find a way to win close games, bad teams find a way to lose. Right now we are bad but we aren't far off. chances are the season is over but the brutal stretch to start the season is over and let's just get a W next week vs. Buf and start a win streak.
It's tough because the team can easily be 5-2 or 4-3 right now, heck they could be 6-1, they just can't seem to get it done at the end. I disagree with the OP though, until we get a QB we'll never do anything, it's a QB league and we have the worst in the NFL right now.

Last I looked our record was 1-6 is that not correct? To say that we just need healthy players & have to sign a few FAs & we will become the next 6 X SB champs is total silliness on your part
Only the Most Unabashed Jet Homer could find solace in 1-6. This is how bad franchises continue to make money year after year while draining their fanbase of any hope. Woody must wake up each day and thank his lucky stars there are fans out there like the OP that see that oncoming train at the end of the tunnel as a beacon of light. 1-6 is 1-6 period. No one cares about what ifs as that and 2 buks won't even buy you a cup of Starbucks. This kind of attitude towards losing only reinforces one of PT Barnum's most famous sayings: "There's a sucker born every minute"
I agree Cman, no moral victories, 1-6 Is terrible...have to go 8--1 to have any remote playoff chance and that ain't happening, still have no clock management, stupid penalties...etc..
Being 1-6 really sucks, as it basically means the season is already over. And I don't know if I'd call the Jets the best 1-6 team there is, but I do think they're close to being a good team. Jets were lucky last year and unlucky this year. I have a feeling we're going to see a much different team after free agency and the draft. I don't think the Jets are nearly as bad a team as the record indicates.
Who the fuck cares how good we look when we are 1-6? I've never seen a fan base so in love with moral victories. We may be 1-6 but we look much better than that. Get the fuck out of here. We have won one fuckin game and haven't had a win in over 5 weeks. You think I give a shit how "good we look" compared to our record?
At this point I think the Jets go in to the bye week at either 2-8 or 3-7. If I were to have to put money on it I'd say 2-8 is the safer bet.
Team is 1-6, this team blows. Hopefully we got some good pieces in Amaro / Pryor going forward. Now is the time to assess players on this team.
We are the Same Old Jets. We play well enough to win but find horrifically stupid and embarrassing ways to lose every week. I believed in Rex and thought he had changed the culture of this team when he came on board. I see now that we are right back where we have always been. We don't make plays on either side of the ball. We turn it over. We can't create a turnover. We can't catch. We can't save timeouts. We make stupid penalties. We have stupid play calling. We can't manage the clock. We can't draft talent. We are 1-6.
