I'm actually a little bit tired of the "rookie" excuse. I didn't see Ryan and Flacco with 5 INT games last season. He was awful today, absolutely awful, and he's still an NFL QB who needs to play much better, rookie or not. He could barely complete a pass! I'm not saying he needs to be Peyton Manning at this point, but he needs to at least be decent enough to give the team a chance to win. It says a lot when the team has 300+ rushing yards, but Sanchez isn't able to manage the game effectively enough to get a win.
You sir, are an ass-hat. In a couple of weeks when he regains his confidence and COTCHERY AND SMITH ARE PLAYING you will be a ghost...
I would hope somebody would shoot you in the face for starting threads like this.....but in this recession, we must conserve ammunition.
He is not going to get benched..no chance in hell. They knew when they made him the starter this could quite well be the result..they are ready to live and die with him for the rest of the year unless he gets hurt.
i would normally be against this thread, but with 5 interceptions when you have over 300 rushing yards...he can't manage the game. have him learn on the bench, and bring in clemens. he never had a fair shot, behind a shitty o line a few years back, and in training camp competing against a rookie with a multi million dollar contract. we have the talent to go to the playoffs this year, and we need a qb that doesn't give the game away, like today and against new orleans. it may kill sanchez's confidence, but the jets need this.
I'm not for benching him...yet, but you guys who are name calling are the morons. It's not out of the question, guys like Elway were benched as rookies so they can catch their breath, watch, and learn.
Wow, even Trent Dilfer is calling this unacceptable and no excuse for the way he is playing. You tools are smarter then him too i guess..
He needed to be BENCHED. He lost the game. He is a Rookie and he is going to make mistakes and his mistakes cost us the game, just as they did against New Orleans. He should have been taken out of the game and Clemens should have been brought it to calm that offense down. Either that - or Ryan needed to take over the play calling because heaving the ball down the field on 2 - 8 is assinine when you have limited receivers and a Rookie QB who is getting picked off left and right.
I don't know about Trent Dilfer...but i know the chud i dropped in the toilet earlier this afternoon is smarter than you.....by a country mile.
The first matches they overprotected him and let the run game carry the team... then he proved he could handle more pressure, so they gave him the car keys; now the car has a few crashes. I'm not for benching him, but I do think they need to go back to the original plan: run a lot, let him throw only when absolutely necessary, and don't expect he'll save the day.
