OMG, when you zoom in on him like this this is just embarrassing.

It's one thing to try to tackle and miss, it's completely another to just watch the guy running 2 feet from you and do nothing.

Someone posted this in the other thread where I referenced Revis being a good tackler and I somewhat stand corrected. He is a good tackler but the effort is piss poor. Bowles should be sent this and ashamed of this completely. It's obvious he's protecting himself and isn't very interested in playing for this team anymore.

We just have to hope this isn't completely contagious. Unfortunately, on the surface, it looks like this has rubbed on on Wilkerson and his fat pay day as well. Bowles should single this play out when watching film and rip this sorry bastard apart. I doubt he will though, because he's weak and we cater to our 'stars.'

Hopefully Revis is cut in the offseason and we can move on. It's not like he's good anymore and when the effort isn't there, he's useless.

He used to be an oustanding tackler. Now he doesn't care.

I am sure he would be if we didn't have to still carry 8M if we do.

Why don't you shed some light on us then if you see things so much differently. What is revis doing well this year?

    I'll answer for you. Nothing.

    Typical arrogant post from you.

No worries pal, keep living it up. Leave it to us low lifes to help you out when it comes to other NFL teams.

Cinci game he was on a bum hammy almost didn't play, was more of a decoy. That could have been part of the reason for his second half against the us.

Ravens game I believe is when McCown went out, so that was an Ajustment game.

He is on his way to being an elite WR.

Hey mr. Pothead, can you please explain how you use a "decoy" at CB? Is it anything like using a decoy for a bullet proof vest?

We are talking about Pryor not revis man. At cb you can't use a decoy WR yes.

I am a believer in Revis still though just so we are clear, the best cb on our squad. Skrine hasn't taken the steps I had hoped when we signed him to being an elite cb, he's still solid though. Marcus Williams isn't very good and is a gambler.

It's not about seeing things differently. But when you say shit like "bench Revis for anybody"...it's just silly. How is that going to help us? Besides, the GIF itself is stupid. Zero context. Some idiot just throws it up, zooms in on Revis and then without any type of context gives us his opinion as facts. What the fuck was Revis supposed to do there? The game was long over by that point, I think there were 50 seconds or so left in the game with the Browns down 2 scores I believe. And you don't see what Revis is seeing there either. You don't see Rontez Miles flying in there, something Revis saw. He would have been stupid to tackle the guy at that point in that situation and risk an injury/concussion for no reason. The game was over, he didn't want to risk getting injured for nothing. Those are smart plays. And I guarantee you if you go back 5 or 8 years you will find similar plays of him, of anybody in the NFL. Players take plays off every once in a while, doesn't mean they suck or show no effort. The only guy I can think of that shows 110% effort on every single down is Sheldon. The rest takes plays off, that's just what it is. Go watch Mo play, there are 10+ plays each week where he just stands at the line of scrimmage in front of some Guard waiving his arms back and forth instead of going after the QB. Randy Moss used to half ass his routes. People get tired. So calm down with this Revis bashing. The game was long over with under a minute left on the clock, he didn't want to risk an injury for nothing, cut the guy some slack.

Had we been BEHIND, had this been the 1st quarter, had this been crunch time in the 4th quarter with us needing a 3rd and out, any of that, I would have been with you 100%. But this is nothing.

I don't consider anyone on this board a low life and it was not even implied. I can also make my own opinions on players of other teams.

Just because someone doesn't see a player the way you see him doesn't disqualify their opinion, nor does it mean they nothing about football.

It's just a difference of opinion, how about just respecting the rights of others to disagree.

I don't want to derail the thread, so I'm going to get back on Revis. I agree with OP on Revis, I personally never wanted him back as I knew it was going to bite a big chunk of change from the Jets payroll and I feel they could have used that money elsewhere on this team.

Was this for sure at the end of the game or are you assuming? I can't for the life of me remember when that play actually happened.

I mentioned as early as the 3rd week (going into the Chiefs game) about how Wilk was taking plays off beginning with his sub-par, non-factor "effort" against the Bills:

    http://forums.theganggreen.com/thre...kansas-city-chiefs.87231/page-10#post-3493146

While others (@NotSatoshiNakamoto and @NCJetsfan) took me to task for it, my observations had nothing to do with the "beloved" Wilk personally but simply with his effort which continues to be frustratingly up and down.

This thread wasn't started because of that gif. It was started because I'm sick and tired of Revis playing 10 yards off and getting beat every which way by whatever receiver he's facing. He's not doing the things he used to do that made him great and it's his own decision to play off like that as confirmed by Bowles in a presser. Not only is he not great, he's not good.

The guy is awful in coverage this year, straight up. Add onto that his lack of effort or being scared of being injured, whatever you want to blame it on, and he's useless.

You never answered the question, btw, what exactly is Revis doing well this year? What is it about his game that we need on the field?

Here's some more gifs of revis not giving it all

Give me someone who has something to prove and wants to be out there. Sick of watching this guy get roasted all season and not even care.

Jesus, he looks like Cromartie now.

Do you have a link for that? I'm not disputing, but it was what I believed at the beginning of the season and was waiting for someone on the CS to say it.

His coverage has been solid for the most part. It's usually tight but he's always an inch from breaking up passes, he can't make up the lack of size, strength, explosion anymore. He lost a step. That's what it boils down to. If he's one step faster he's an elite corner. Right now he's a #2 corner who needs safety help. And I never said he's doing this and that well. I just find it ridiculous to just say "let's bench him, I don't care who takes over for him as long as he shows effort". That's not how you win games. You've seen Skrine, Marcus Williams, the rest of the corners get toasted. Revis is our best corner whether you like it or not and asking for him to be benched doesn't do us any good because of the lack of depth. If Dee, or even Dex (where the fuck is he anyway?) were healthy and still on our squad I'd say give him a shot, he's young and he's got upside, he has starting corner talent. But we don't. All the guys behind Revis are best suited for backup roles. So there you go. If they don't give him safety help (which they haven't) they have to move him to safety. But then you'd have to bench Gilchrist, that's not gonna happen. So...we're stuck right now. Give him safety help, let him play zone, let him cover the first 5-15 yards and I think he can be great doing that, create a lot of turnovers. Like Ty Law did that one year. How many picks did he have? 10? 12? He had lost 2 steps at that point.
