And after all that, Jets will lose to Buffalo next week and Pitt will win and make playoffs. Sorry Bill - nice try though.

Ah, a member of the Bataan Death March to the playoffs clique. Time-honored but I'm thinking it's going to be hard to lose the game next week. Rex Ryan will go overboard on his defensive plan and motivational stuff but the Bills offense is much more banged up than our defense and it's going to be hard for them to score unless they can control the ball on the ground on offense.

Vikings made the same call earlier this season against the Rams. The D stopped them and AP ran it into FG range and the kick got them the win.

Metro is traditionally a bit windy and our offense wasn't as productive as it was in the first half but still...................damn

Pats lost their left tackle and we only allowed 1 offensive td. We deserved to win

Oh please, BB isn't dumb and I would think he would rather play the Steelers in the playoffs than us to be honest.

We aren't some easy out on the road to the Superbowl.

Also, this very call was made this season with the Vikings. It paid off for them in a big way.

It amazes me how people overlook and over complicate shit. lol

We deserved this win, we outplayed them all game. This was a game we could not lose and we didn't.

    Feels great.

They would not have even been in this game if it wasn't for the fluke fumble/TD. That was so fluky.

So glad this got its own thread. The multiple game threads it was already being discussed in wasn't enough.

Who the fuck cares? If we see em in the playoffs with this Jets defense, Pats will be in trouble. I would rather play the Steelers if I'm the Pats. They have a leaky secondary for sure.

I take it you are not a Jet fan. It sounds like you hated for us to beat the Pats and now you are carrying the venum to the next game in Buffalo. Oh well, let's move on to more positive thinking from people that are Jet fans.
We have a great opportunity, we could not have asked for more. Will see which team is more motivated.

When he made the OT call, assuming you think he did that which is debatable, the Steelers were down 3 with almost no time on the clock. Putting the Jets in control of their own destiny next week was a big deal if you wanted the Steelers to miss the playoffs.

I'm really not sure what happened out there. If Slater just walked away cool after the call then it looks like Belichik decided to let the Jets have the ball first. The hesitation on Slater's part is the piece that doesn't fit.

It's very possible that the hesitation was due to Slater suddenly realizing that somehow the Jets had the ball and the wind. I could see that. Pats were supposed to ask for the wind if they were ceding the ball. There's no reason not to do that since the 6th quarter doesn't exist.

Did anyone else notice that at the end of the second qtr before the half there was a minute and change left and the Pats still had timeouts they just ran the clock out when they were down by 7 .....weird

I think it was like 1:17 left or something like that, but yeah it was weird. Belichik didn't have his A game today. I think losing the LT early made him cautious because if he loses Brady now the season is over.

As much as i cannot stand BB, I will never believe he lets his team lose. A guy who cheats as hard as he does cannot stand losing. I still believe that someone f-ed up and BB was just covering, although the post game commenters are all saying he wanted the ball. He has the best QB in the game.

It was a weird game. Without his wideouts Brady looked hapless early. He made some really nervous passes when there was a hint of pressure, and misread a blitz or two as well. Pats got a break on a good play by Sheard---an easy 6. (Their offense only had one good drive). I still think his arm was going forward. The ball did. But when Brady needed it he found a way late. When you have a great QB, a negative play or two in a drive does not kill you. That 4th downer he threw to Gronk was in the eye of the needle. If the Pats take the ball in OT, we probably lose. I do not smell foul play. We played better than they did. Left some chances on the field, too.It was a gift from the gods, is more like it. After that strip sack and TD, they decided we deserved it, so they took over
