BB is about to get trashed in the home press for unloading Seymour. The Genius was out coached, out adjusted and made a huge off season blunder that's going to bite him all year. He doesn't have the opposition signals and he doesn't have the best 3 man front in the league anymore and now the Jets have the best young gun in the division.

I'd agree with that. And yet, we've heard plenty of lectures about proper sportsmanship from the OTHER side of the field this week.

The Jets NEVER contacted Parcells when he left NE (though he and his agent did apparently try and reach out to the NYJ since Kotite had quit earlier). Parcells did not like Kraft -- he wasn't hired by him -- and wanted out. He was gone no matter what and would have filed breach-of-contract with Kraft for not letting him 'pick the groceries' as Parcells told the late Will McDonough. Belichick was not in the same position as Parcells, a HOF coach who could go anywhere. He flopped in Cleveland. No way he is leaving the NYJ without knowing FOR SURE he has a backup plan. The Patriots wanted BB and he wanted them. Ergo, the daffy press conference. But enough of the "both teams tampered with the other guys coach." The Jets never did with Parcells, EOS.

It matters because at the end of the day, there are much bigger issues in the world and this is just a game. Even if its your job. You're a bad example and a bad person if you can't lose graciously. Just like if you win and brag, you can't win graciously. Its a sport, a game, entertainment. Its not the end of the god damn world if YOUR team happens to lose.
