How could Belichick resign as head coach of the NYJ if he didn't have a contract as head coach of the NYJ?

True but not everybody accepts a million dollar bonus from a dying old man with the promise he understood the terms of his contract and will fulfill them, only to resign as soon as the guy dies.

Very few people on earth do that and those that do we call scumbags. Hence the narrative that Belichick is a scumbag.

Write enough rules and many will be broken without intention...every single day.

Same with laws, there are so many now, that you can innocently drive down the street and you end up in jail.
Stop a guy on the street for nothing and they can legally strangle you to death.

The NFL is strangling on it's own rules, for example, camera gate, hitting your wife, hitting your child...there are legal laws against some
this stuff, but the NFL got themselves involved and they got themselves in way over their head.

Football pressure, size, etc. doesn't mean anything...17-7 in first half, 28-0 second half, rules, rules, and more rules for nothing.
So now the whole world is up in arms...OVER NOTHING.

A cheap excuse for jealous fans of 25 teams to try to eliminate one of the best teams in history.

WOW what a joke of a post. I'm gonna use that premise the next time I get pulled over!!!

Me: "what seems to be the problem officer?"

Officer: "Well you ran that red light back there.."

Me using this poster's dumbass opinion: "Well jeez if you write enough rules they will be broken without intention. It's simple: society is strangling on its own rules officer and now you got yourself in over your head. I was just innocently driving down the street and now you want to give me a citation???

Red light, green light... it doesn't mean anything. I got to where I am going safely. And now you are up in arms.. OVER NOTHING."

 that ought to go over well and makes a lot of sense. It will be even funnier when I have to go to court and argue that I was cited because the officer was jealous of one of the best drivers in history :D

Coming to this forum for the past week has been more fun than any tv show or movie ever. Lets recap.

    - Got no proof about footballs being deflated on purpose.
    - Nothing but "sources" coming out every few days to keep the media going
    - 2psi difference is most likely 1.0 to 1.5, because BB kept referring to that difference in his press conference.
    - Only one explanation given on the whole situation, by the Pats, who said they did experimented on the balls for 3 days or so.
    - And the best of all: "Because they don't fumble they must be cheating!". No, they take care of the ball. That's what good teams do. I know as a Jets fan that is very difficult to understand. Also helps when you never run the ball.

Funny stuff. If the video tape had any meaningful proof on it, the NFL would tell about their findings in a second. The best they got is a 90 second toilet visit which has nothing to do with the issue. Funny how that got leaked when everything started to turn against the NFL.

Now they aren't even sure if they measured the footballs to begin with. It would take them maximum three days to test the Patriots theory. That has already passed since BB's press conference. First I thought they had tested it, and found out that they had no case (hence the funny "we have a video" leak), but now you might wonder what could they possibly test, if they never even measured the footballs.

Doesn't matter how you slice it, the whole "investigation" is the biggest joke of all time. So to the thread starter: nope, BB won't be banned in your lifetime. And nope, Pats don't win or don't fumble because of 1 psi difference. You might wish so if you are against the Pats (or completely insane/dumb as a rock), but otherwise you'll be singing a sad song when this investigation turns into big fat nothing.

Enjoy the game and hope the Pats lose! At least then you have something to cheer about.

Because they were so honest about the whole Spygate thing right.... or the Ray Rice thing or the other shit the NFL has tried to sweep under the rug the last decade or so.

Hey, this is a big deal because everyone thinks your team cheated to win, again. People like to see winners succeed not cheaters.

The Patriots and Kraft violated the terms of his contract.

He was supposed to have GM duties but Kraft stripped him. He never signed up to work for Kraft or under a GM.

It was all documented by the late Will McDonough. Parcells was within his rights to leave, though I'm not sure he pursued it the right way. However, unlike the Pats and Belichick, the Jets NEVER reached out to Parcells while he was still under contract.

If the Pats lose, which I'm not confident about, you are going to be more miserable in your life than you even have been. It's obvious that you live vicariously through sports teams, which is sad. Obvious because you have spent this much time on a Jets forum defending your livelihood.
Please don't kill yourself a month from now, it will be more fun if you keep coming here denying reality and hating the world that has denied you a single legitimate Patriots championship and also anything recent to brag about that isn't tainted by a head coach who will cheat at every turn and a gay quarterback who is obsessed with deflated balls.

    Solid comeback! Except...

I follow the AFC east. Have never written a single word on a Pats forum. Got interested in the Jets when Rex came and Jets were on Hard Knocks.

If I root for one team, it's the Dolphins, because I was a Marino fan growing up. Also live like 3000 miles from Boston so it won't make any difference to me who wins. I just like to laugh at morons who make claims like "not a single legitimate championship". You know taping signals was common pre 2006 right? Also not illegal. When did the Pats win those championships again? I refuse to believe you are that stupid, but maybe your favorite team sucking for 40+ years has affected your mental health. Maybe you should do something about it.

Don't go crying now if the Pats win. I won't be watching because the game comes at night, but I'll check the score when I wake up. Then I'll go on with my day and keep laughing at you 1psi morons who have lost their grasp of reality.

I agree with this....But i am more in line with thinking an agreement of this offing may come to pass a week or so after the SB. And Adams has to leave as well. If the league is going to continue and keep afront of the $$$, they have to quash all avenues. Adams, BB, Walsh, all the NE coaching tree..... it's going to be held over the rest of the owners to squash it and let personal feelings aside, and step inline with the company mantra. BB's tell all book would kill the NFL is he isn't given some accolades post career.

BB did his one day hire and quit because he and Tuna were no longer seeing eye to eye on philospohy and there is some tampering from Kraft

i want it to be uncovered that Brady is still getting the call in his helmet on another channel after the 15 sec cutoff rule..... why do you think he dinks and dunks all the time..... his biggest weakness from college to pros is his inability to handle pressure when the pocket collapses.... the system has been designed to minimize or greatly reduce that. Hope Sunday, he's on the ground a lot.

I think the nfl should require all violations of the rules to have proof that it was intentional. False start...I didn't do it on purpose so I shouldn't be penalized. Illegal hands to the face...it was an accident, my hand just slipped. Holding...it was an accident, I swear.

That should be the standard the nfl applies to all rules otherwise there is no reason to apply it to this rule.

    Your too smart by 1/2!

    RULE # 0000000?
You can only wear an approved hat during team activities, like Press Day before the Super Bowl. So one of the premier running backs (Lynch) is going to be
fined $ thousands for wearing an unapproved hat. Putting rules like this in exposes the league to useless dumb publicity, not to mention insulting
    players.

    RULE # 0000000?
Officials must check footballs before game but not log what they found. In the event of an incident, evidence is, "he said, he said"!
Nothing like having very finitely specific rules without any documentation to back you up!

This league tries to portray itself as professional, it is amateur bush league management!
